Stayed here with my partner for 2 weeks. During our stay it was my boyfriend’s birthday, housekeeping had a lovely display of balloons when we arrived which was a nice touch. |HOWEVER- |Breakfast was very poor, would be better going elsewhere like we did everyday even though we paid for breakfast in our stay we felt that it wasn’t worth it. |Thought it was overpriced for the hotel facilities as it is a 3 stars hotel it was grand but nothing to write home about. ||We were surprised to find out when we arrived that the pool across the road was shared between 3 different hotel and online day passes, was very surprised that we didn’t realise this before we booked it as no one had written about it in reviews.|This meant that the pool was very over crowded and uncomfortable at times as we felt everyone was on top of each other. There was a no diving rule but wasn’t enforced by staff at all. If you like swimming this is not the place for it. There were about 60 people in the water at a time, very uncomfortable. |Some Staff at the pool were very rude and to be honest we didn’t really want to give them the business but it was complimentary access with our booking in the hotel. Some pool staff were nice trying to make up for others that were not pulling their weight. They have a food menu there and if the atmosphere and staff were more friendly we probably would have eaten lunch there throughout the holiday but we went elsewhere. |Sun loungers were way too close together! So uncomfortable it’s felt like there were too many people in the facility. Our balcony was a sea view and looked down at the pool rooftops. One day we could see that all the loungers were full ! And we saw people paying in at the door and staff allowed them to come in. We watched them look for a lounger and a place to put their stuff but then after not finding a free lounger they left a few minutes later. It was ridiculous I don’t know how they are not keeping track of numbers in the facility. Had we known that the pool area would have been this busy and chaotic we wouldn’t have booked this hotel!!!||With the hotel only being 3 stars we understand that it is not going to be luxury but surely has a certain standard. The cleaning of the bathroom wasn’t good, the toilet looked like it wasn’t cleaned when we got there. There were stains on the sheets which felt a little grubby. All in all the hotel seemed like it needed a refresh and it felt shabby. Felt like cleaners cleaned random things in the room and didn’t actually replenish things like shower gel or shampoo or things that we actually needed. As it is a 3 star we weren’t expecting a five star experience but clean was all we ask. Room’s weren’t sound proof has an awful nights sleep when someone next door to us was screaming and shouting at 3am , not the hotels fault but very noisy. Tried to ring reception multiple times about it but the phone wouldn’t work. We didn’t want to have to get dressed and go down to reception so we just endured it. ||The night we got here, we arrived at the hotel for 2 am , we got to our room and found that our balcony door didn’t close properly. I asked someone to come up to look at it, they fixed it a couple of days later. ||The only good thing I really liked about this hotel was the location! It is in a lovely location 10 mins drive from Valletta, loads of bars and restaurants around to choose from. |All in all wouldn’t stay here again but if I was to rate the hotel it...
Read moreRye115 does not pretend to be a conventional hotel and as long as you do not arrive expecting it to be, you will get on just fine. I have to confess that the first impressions from the entryphone at the door, the rather battered paintwork in the hallway and shabby doormat did make me initially question if I had made the right choice booking to stay here. As soon as we entered the main living and dining area and were greeted by the lovely young lady on duty, those doubts evaporaed. The cups of coffee and a freshly baked crossants offered us were very welcome after our long journey here. The lounge and dining room are charmingly decorated and the ambiance is added to by the gentle music from the Sonos. We were delighted with our spacious three person room and loved our robes and sandal slippers! The beds were very comfortable and good nights sleep were had by us all.For me, the fact that there were shared bathrooms for all the guests was a throwback to times when this was the norm - to my daughters though - it was a novelty!! In an ideal world then yes - of course you would choose to have private facitilites but being made to think of other people and the environment is no bad thing. The Christmas tree in the lounge decorated with Rye115 Angels and white lights was charming. Within the lounge also is a fridge with some drinks and select bottles of wine and fizz sit atop a glass filled cabinet. These can be paid for later and partaken in this very cozy area - a real treat at the end of a day exploring this wonderful city. MIght have been good if you could get a hot drink too in the evening but we managed! We really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the different expeirience this hotel offers - which also means that it is very good value for money for a hotel in this location. Really hope to return and wish the owners every success for daring to be different and challenge 21st century hotel...
Read moreI was here for 3 nights as a solo traveller and had a fantastic stay. This is a hidden gem of a hotel as I would not have heard of this place if not for it randomly popping up on Booking.com for me. I would say do not expect a traditional hotel stay experience with all the bells and whistles, but in a good way - this is more like a cosy B&B and is a very unique experience.
Room rates are affordable for Copenhagen but you get an extremely stylish and cosy hotel. Honestly coming back after a busy day out sightseeing felt like coming home when I came back to the hotel. The lights are dimmed and there is this lovely quiet cosy atmosphere, not at all like a traditional hotel lobby. You have shared bathrooms, but I never found it to be an issue - even at full occupancy I didn’t have to wait (I think it’s about 3 rooms to a bathroom) and the bathrooms are kept very clean and well maintained.
The neighbourhood it is in is very lovely and safe and it is just a few mins from the nearest Metro.
Staff are very friendly and personable (I had the pleasure of meeting Christian and one of the owners, Mette!). I lost a necklace in one of the bathrooms and they made every effort personally to try and retrieve it.
You can preorder breakfast and it’s a yummy little Danish spread with pastries, fruit, chia seed pudding granola, juice and my personal favourite, the Danish morning bun.
No kettle in the rooms but you get complementary coffee and tea in the dining area, and there is a minibar with soft drinks, beer and wine and snacks that you can purchase.
The only thing I will say is the walls are on the thin side so you may hear people in the hallway (my room was near the kitchen so I could often hear a bit of commotion with people coming down for breakfast and checking in etc), but I wouldn’t say this really detracted from my stay.
Overall I wish them every success and would certainly recommend and...
