Friheden — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Good vibe. Good drinks. Way too little food. Too long waiting time. Rude staff. Not recommend for dining experience.

The place is good for drinks and snacks with your friends, good wine, nice atmosphere and fine music. I don't know why though they try to be the 'fine dining' restaurant at the same time, because it is not going well. We were group of 12 people and we ordered chef's menu that consisted of 6 courses. The waiter was only complaining that we are eating too slow, even though there were sometimes more than 30 minutes breaks between the dishes! The food was okay, but the amount? A small plate of asparagus with three pieces of half egg for all of us? There should be at least two times more food served. In the end the waiter rushed us out because he had to clean the tables for new guests, while some of us were not finished with eating the last course. I had to stand outside with my glass of wine. One of my colleagues did not have a chance to finish his drink, the waiter cleaned out the glass half...

The rude and impolite staff was truly disappointing. I loved Copenhagen, but the experience I had at Friheden left me very disappointed. I asked the staff responsible for selling beer and wine in front of Friheden a few questions about Copenhagen, but they completely ignored me. They didn’t even bother to answer my questions and indifferently kept working on their computer. In a mocking manner, instead of answering my questions, they said, “have a good night bro” and went back to their computer. I had planned to visit Friheden almost a month before coming to Copenhagen from Berlin, and I had never imagined such an experience. I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone...

This could by far be the best bar in Copenhagen, if only one thing would be in place... which is the best drink I experienced in my 5 year journey as a food and lifestyle catering aficionado. This drink is called "Harry's special" and it's served by bartender Harry. It's absolutely an otherworldly combination of flavours. The only catch is: it's not on the Menu!!!! Why is that???? If it would be, I think this bar would be featured in all the magazines I'm working with across the globe.

I hope next time I'm in town, to see Harry's Special on the menu and then I'll give it 5 stars and make you folks famous.
