OK, so I really wanted to like this place - being a new addition to the restaurant scene in our local area. Truth be told, the food is great and tastes authentic (I'm not mexican, so I could be wrong). They use their own home made corn flour for their tacos and tortillas which really added to the experience. The place labels itself as a casual dining eatery which makes sense since mexican food is about taste, spices and by and large associated with comfort food. However the size of the portions and the price level is everything but casual and caters more to a fine dining audience (kr. 115 for a small portion of tortilla chips with guacomole and salsa as a starter. Casual? really?). My girlfriend and I went there not terribly hungry and left the place not terribly full but with kr. 1600 less to our names. They also have takeout which is seemingly offered at the same price as the eat-in menu which strikes me as odd. And if the portions are as small as when ordering in, expect a hefty takeout bill or an empty stomach. On the good side, we were slightly tipsy as we did have 3 drinks each with different kinds of tequila and mezcal that were very good and reasonably priced as opposed to the food. The waiter suggested we order one starter to share and two dishes per person which is nowhere near enough if you're any kind of hungry. We ended up ordering an extra main dish each and were still hungry. At that point, we decided enough was enough and left feeling this place isn't quite what it makes...
Read moreThey only use their reservation system to charge you money if you don’t show up. It is not to secure a table for you. They do not care about that. After reading quite positive reviews about this restaurant, I decided to book it for dinner on my husband´s birthday. I booked a table for 2 , a day in advance and they asked for my card details so in case I don’t show up, they can charge 150 kr. for each ( I experienced it first time for this level restaurant in Copenhagen . I do not consider it a fine dining place). We arrived at right time at the restaurant and realized they actually did not reserve any table for us. The attendant was a bit rude at the start and took us to the only table she could find empty at that time. We saw a guy came after us and keeping his jacket on one of the table before even talking to anyone for seating and no one cared about it. So clearly there is no system here. Now coming to food, in short “ IT DOES NOT WORTH THE MONEY !” Not sure what all the hype is about. I think it is all paid media. The portions are very small compared to the price. The food is spicy but in a tasteless way. I did not find it special or delicious. Drinks were ok but again nothing special! Normally, I am ok to avoid a bad service or attitude if the food is great. But this restaurant is disappointing in both service and food. I will not recommend...

I lived in KPH for a few months 10 years ago and the Mexican food was extremely limited and only texmex. I saw Hija de Sanchez opened up with a Mexican chef and staff. I was super excited to get a taste of home while abroad and was utterly disappointed.
The service was upsetting from not being able to substitute a flour tortilla with a corn tortilla to them forgetting the rice and beans. When we asked for extra limes, they did bring some lime wedges, but also mentioned the tacos had lime already. The staff then talked about us wanting to swap the tortilla in spanish, which we understood.
The food was underwhelming. The birria while fine didn't come with any salsa. The vegetarian taco didn't have much flavor. The cochina taco was the best of the three because it actually was juicy and had flavor. The fish taco adaquate, but the coleslaw was just lettuce, didn't even have carrots. The Spanish rice and pinto beans were over salted and lacking in the right flavors. Looks like it ended up being a blessing not getting the chicken gringa because it isn't a taco, it was a muleta.
The cantina didn't really have much of a vibe. There is just so much more to México than tequila and Jarritos.
Finally, for almost 400kr, I'd expect to have either more food or...
