Reffen is an amazing outdoor food market. With food from all around the world ( I haven't tried it all, but everything I tried was so good) There's one bus that takes you there and a small walk - if you head left and not right to reffen you will see some house boats and a swimming hole where students like to swim and relax. In reffen, once you order your food, take a seat at a table or grab a chair and sit by the waters edge or around the many fire pits. There is also a skateboard park there so go to have great fun. In summer it's so nice and relaxing to sit in the sun with a drink and people watch or watch the boats go past. Reffen opens at around 11am and stays open quite late, is better to do it in summer but it does get really full after 3, so get there early to grab a spot. The meals range between 100dkk and 150dkk and drinks are 70dkk up. In summer you can also watch people who bungee jump off the crane to the right of reffen. It is also near one of the hot tub boats docks nearby. Never been brave enough to try but love watching it.

This is an amazing place to go for the day or just for lunch or dinner. There is plenty of paid parking in the vicinity, but there were also many people taking the bus or bicycling in. There is tons of bicycle parking. The food choices are endless and from all over the world. There is an amazing selection to choose from, and the prices are all about the same And fairly reasonable considering the experience. There is a wonderful place to grab a chair and sit along the river and relax or sit in the Sandy area around fire pits. There is plenty of bathrooms as well. This is a must see place if you are visiting the Copenhagen area, but it is a little off the beaten path so it is easy to miss. They do stay open Later in the evening, so it is wonderful to see all the cool lights and people hanging out and enjoying themselves. There is also a good section of vegetarian and vegan food as well as a great beer and wine selection.

MUST GO!!! If you love to explore foods from other countries nothing beats Reffen. There are options for everyone, atmosphere on the water is a vibe, and you can decide how much or how little you want to spend! Drinks are plentiful, company is vast, music is everywhere, and the food was wonderful. I MUST recommend the chicken momo and anything from Mehmaan (Pakistani food). I’d have to say skip Republique; everything from there looked good but unseasoned and just mid. Also Maroc Maroc was also mid at best, I was a little turned off by the service, could have been just a cultural gap but the food also looked beautiful but lacked flavor. For sure check out Mehmaan, Everest Nepalese, Fuego Street Food, Holy Kaprow…don’t judge yes I tried all these places lol. Needless to say it’s worth the journey. Also cool and easy ferry ride across the river. 💜

This is what makes Copenhagen such a fun and interesting city. Just a bus/bike ride away, near the outskirts of the city, lies this amazing place. The atmosphere, the people, the food, everything is so good. The prices will also reflect that, if you want to feel full you will have to spend a lot of money, but that’s how it goes in Copenhagen. A small tin of fries was 65+ Dkk, a beer was 50, and an iced latte was 40. The place is absolutely worth it, after you eat you can grab a lounge chair and just admire the harbor and enjoy the music. We walked there, which is very much doable, it takes a bit of time but that was also worth it, the places we walked through were so quiet, the architecture so refined and it was a breath of fresh air compared to the bustling city and the crowded Raffen.
