Dinner at Koan was a pleasant experience. The location is great and the restaurant's interior is beautiful. As soon as we stepped in, the staff started taking care of us, and that continued throughout the evening. We chose the non-alcoholic sparkling elderflower drink for the first bites, and one non-alcoholic and one hybrid non-alcoholic / sool pairing. I was very happy with my non-alcoholic pairing, which I think was as interesting as the food. In terms of food, most dishes were interesting, delicious, or both, and there was more than enough food. My favourites were the tofu & caviar, oyster & king crab, and the "oolong tea and good memories" dessert. I didn't like the Sun dae, but I don't like blood pudding in general, and I found the yuzu dessert overpowering, even though I normally love yuzu. Throughout the evening, I could definitely appreciate the consideration and care that went into designing and making every single dish. Overall, I can recommend Koan as a high-end restaurant, and I felt like the value for money was reasonable. There were as many staff members as guests. Perhaps what I liked most of all was that the atmosphere was relaxed and warm and we got lots of information not only about the food and drinks, but also about the dishes that were used for serving and cooking.

This place was a last minute change prior to our trip to Copenhagen and so glad we did. This was our first 17 course tasting menu experience with pairing, and we weren’t disappointed. We were informed by one of the Sommeliers, the history of Chef Kristian Baumann, and how he only started his concept, Koan in 2020 with a pop up. He finally moved to his new location in April and got his 2nd Star in 2023. We can see why. From the moment you are lead into the space,( and what an incredible space it is), we knew we were in for a dining experience like no other. This was a first for us, not known what was on the 17 course menu but we think it added to the experience. Now let me start by saying, throughout the 5 hrs, plus experience, the team at Koan, were engaging but not too intrusive, informative ( it appears everyone understands every dish, no matter who served it to the table), and offered where truly there to ensure you had an experience never to be forgotten. I will let the pics justify the evening, that words alone can’t. I might come back later to provide a more detail commentary. Truely worthy of its 2 star status Thank you Team Koan.

Interesting dinner! Best thing about the evening was the menu progression. It was planned in a genius way and it totally makes sense once you completed it. At the start, the snacks were good and fresh, but didn't have a wow factor. Then we received the oyster and it was quite nice, maybe a slightly wow factor. At this stage i was worries, is this place all bells and whistles and they forgot the flavours? I was wrong, because from there every dish just kept getting better. The caviar ball was possibly on the top 2 best things i've ever eaten, EVER. The bread was amazing, the main courses were to die for. I was a little hungry by the time the main course arrived. But then it was this very comforting big bowl of rice with all this delicious bits and pieces in it. It was trully fantastic. Desserts were 10/10, there is caviar in the dessert, matched with a beautiful Souffle! WHATS NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THAT! What a treat. I think about this meal everyday and can't wait to be back!

It's a wonderful experience. Korean based 2-star Michelin restaurant. Some of the tables (near the entrance) have a great view of the open kitchen, allowing to witness the preparation of the dishes and the immaculate choreography of kitchen and service staff. Service is very friendly and attentive. The chef is very present, keeping a very attentive look to customers for the best experience, very customer-centric. The dishes are immensely creative, with many intricate details, textures and flavours. We accompanied the meal with a Sool mixed pairing, alternating Sool and non-alcoholic beverages. Probably the best option as we felt a purely Sool pairing would be too heavy. Wine, Prestige wine and Champagne pairings are also available. Judging from what the neighbouring tables received, they seemed like good options too. We felt that Sool was more fitting to the occasion though. Overall a very positive experience, only slightly disturbed by a noisy table, but admittedly not something the restaurant can...
