The tacos tasted great - some of the best I’ve had in Denmark. I chose the restaurant because the interior looked nice. We got the table for 5, but it felt cramped, and it was cold - I wished I’d brought a sweater.
The communication and service could have been better - especially the lack of clarity around Taco Tuesday. It was 2-for-1 tacos. We ordered the number of tacos we wanted, but the waiter assumed we wanted twice as many, because we included odd numbers. We had thought the 2-for-1 covered the total number of tacos, and would have adjusted our order if we had understood.
We didn’t realize the error until we got 10 chicken and 10 beef tacos, where we had only expected 5 of each. Our table of 5 people and had inadvertently ordered 46 tacos, but had only meant to order 23, which was already on the high end. I find it odd that the waiter didn’t double check if there had been a misunderstanding before putting the order through.
He left the table quickly after delivering the first 20 tacos. When I got up and told him about the error, he said that the rest of the tacos were already being made, and that we were welcome to bring leftovers home… or that we could cancel and he would eat them himself, which seemed impossible given the sheer numbers. I cancelled 4 tacos, but I should have cancelled more.
I didn’t have the overview of what we’d ordered and was aware that the tacos in the table were getting cold and the others were wearing without me. The waiter could have been more helpful in helping me remedy the situation. Later we cancelled the 6 birria tacos we’d ordered as well, which we were sad to miss.
We ended up with 36 tacos, which was still too much — 7 tacos each, whereas 4-5 would have been plenty.
The beef, chicken, and potato tacos were great. There was a lot of filling in each taco - more than I expected. We got full fast. We didn’t care for the shrimp or the mushroom.
The bill was close to the amount it works have been if we had ordered all-you-can-eat tacos — it would have been even more if we hadn’t cancelled 10 of the tacos.
Looking back, I wish I had cancelled the rest of the order after the first 20 tacos were delivered. 36 tacos was too much food. We ended up overeating, and three of us left with stomach aches. We bought antacids on the way home.
Since the tacos were so good, I might return for takeaway at some point, but I would be hesitant to eat at the restaurant again, because the service...
Read moreWe had an unfortunate misunderstanding here.
Family of 4, parents and teenage children, ordered food and drinks from the (short) menu. Were informed 5 minutes later that half our order (spareribs) was unavailable. We understand, no problem.
Were told to chose something else from the menu. Did not find alternatives to our liking. Wanted to leave.
Waitress stated that leaving was not possible and told us to find something else from the menu. We offered to compromise and pay drinks (not served yet) and then leave. Were informed that we had to take and pay for half of the order and drinks since it could not be changed as they put the first half in the computer system which could not be changed - no compromise possible.
Staff suggested to ask boss for authorisation to undo order but would rather not since they would be made to pay for it. And, on second thought, they wouldn’t ask their boss but firmly demanded we should order alternative from the menu. Hospitable atmosphere was gone and it looked like we were being fleeced.
We were there with our children and saw no way to get out of the situation other than to order more and things we didn’t wish to eat (and we were fully at odds with staff at that point) or to just pay and leave. Making a scene felt like adding insult to injury - and since English was a second language for both us and staff, this was too much trouble.
Paid entire order (70€) (including bottled drinks that were unopened) in full and got called names by the waitress while doing it.
During the act of being told off by staff, items were fed into the apparently not-so unalterable computer system. Only items we truly ordered were added (we had not consumed anything, beverage or food, at that point). We were offered to wait until food they did have was made and then get it as take out. We did not feel like waiting after that clash with our kids so we left.
Either this is a tourist-fleecing trap or you could at least have concerns regardind exploitative working circumstances that are so constrictive that all common compromise is...
