Beautiful church, not only the building itself, the whole place has something that have been lost in the last century, a sort of peaceful and calm place, in front a nice garden where you can sit on the benches and rest for a while. It's also a not so famous place so not a lot of people are there, and I recommend going there at night, it has a good 1890 foggy London vibe.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting St. John's, a charming church located in Copenhagen. As a tourist exploring the city, I was immediately drawn to its Neo-Gothic architecture, with its striking red brick exterior. The church's tower, soaring 54 meters high, caught my attention with its elegant copper-clad spire, adding a touch of grandeur to the structure.

What intrigued me even more about St. John's was its historical significance. It was the first church in the Copenhagen area to embrace Medieval features such as crow-stepped gables and pointed-arched windows. This unique blend of traditional elements in a Neo-Gothic design truly set it apart. The architect, Theodor Sørensen, was clearly influenced by Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll, as the three-gable motif found in St. John's can also be observed in Bindesbøll's Hobro Church.

Upon entering the church, I was struck by the serene and peaceful atmosphere. The interior, although not as elaborate as some other churches, exuded a sense of simplicity and tranquility. The stained glass windows added a touch of color, casting a soft glow over the pews.

St. John's holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Its unconventional style, which was initially met with curiosity, quickly gained popularity and became an emblem of architectural innovation in Denmark. It is truly a testament to the beauty and versatility of red brick as a building material.

Whether you are an architecture enthusiast or simply seeking a moment of quiet reflection, St. John's is a must-visit. Its unique blend of Neo-Gothic and Medieval elements, along with its rich history, make it a fascinating stop on any tour...
