Came in to try some wine. Wife ordered champagne for her. Was never asked what I wanted but they poured me champagne anyway. No worries. Misunderstanding. All good.
Proceeded to listen to a specific blond curly haired employee do the following:
Bash Americans for their “ignorance” Tell my wife what gun laws were in the USA Tell us about Denmark superiority
I didn’t say anything the entire time I was there but that guy was… something. Thankfully another employee corrected his drunken spouts multiple times. The only redeeming factor was that the nice guy in the tank top that was correcting his colleague made sure we got the drinks for free. We wanted a drink of wine not to hear someone air their grievances against Americans. We don’t paint all Danish with a brush and it is unfair to the same for anyone of a different race/creed/culture/country/etc. To the dude in the tank top, you don’t deserve this, but your colleague shouldn’t be employed.

Read moreWe ordered a bottle of wine and it was absolutely fine. Atmosphere was good and hyggeligt (cosy). HOWEVER------when it was time to pay the check, our receipt said 500 kroner (the price of our wine), but the payment device said 545 kroner. I asked the server and he blamed the error on his "colleague". He then comes back to show us the wine we ordered—which indeed showed 500 kroner. He then admitted that he charged us an extra 45 kroner for the almonds were eating. However, the almonds were given to us by the lady sitting next to us who didnt finish them before she left and asked if we wanted them.
I would have thought it was honest mistake if the waiter saw we were eating almonds (and that possibly we ordered them but a waiter forgot to add them on) HOWEVE -it felt completely DISHONEST because he handed us a receipt that said 500 kroner but keyed in 545 kroner on the terminal. Our experience at Lilo Vinbar was completely tainted by the cheating waiter.

Read moreI couldn’t believe I would encounter such awful service in Copenhagen. We ordered a few items. First, the tartare: despite its nice presentation, it was hard to tell if there was any meat under the dressing, which absorbed all the flavor, resulting in a disappointing experience. The second dish was bruschetta with tomatoes, for which I asked to add the anchovies they offered. I tried to detect any recognizable anchovy flavor, but everything was overpowered by a heavy tomato-mayo sauce (though I could be wrong about the mayo). I asked the waiter if there were anchovies, and he admitted he had forgotten to add them. He then told me the bruschetta would be on the house, but when we received the bill, the bruschetta was still listed. The issue wasn’t the money but the treatment of the guest. Moreover, they didn’t offer water and ignored the guests without providing any proper attention. Other dishes were fine, the wine was good but...
