Pizza Express — Restaurant in Esbjerg Municipality

We experienced the same situation as Ischa! Shame on them! When we asked the bill we had to go inside where they told us the terminal was out of internet connection. However I saw it was even not connected. We were told to look for cash just in front of the 'restaurant'. We followed these instructions like other tourists who were told the same rubbish. The change terminal (official?) was not clear enough to have a good vision on the exchange rate. After checking my bank account it appeared that the rate was easily 20% higher than allowed: 1,62 €/100 kr instead of 1,34€/100kr! So we paid 12€ more than we should have be paid! After confrontation with these facts the owner of this dishonest establishment returned, strongly reluctant, 20 kr, with excuses that this would represent the fee you'd pay extra at the exchange terminal! This kind of unfair businesses should be reported to financial governments! There not worth it to handle business in such a beautyful medieval...

I don't know what this place actually is, but it is certainly not a restaurant! They have 5+ staff hanging around there but no one of them seemed to take care for us and our order for 15min or so, I had to go to the bar (the place was empty except the two of us!). The pizza was really good though, but when they were asked to wrap up the rest so we may take it home, they also stuffed the left over fish steak and fries in the same box (with their hands!!!)! Wir waren leider sehr enttäuscht von unserem Besuch.

Service & Kommunikation Der Service wirkte unprofessionell, unerfahren und schnell überfordert. Es fehlte an klarer Kommunikation – weder auf Englisch noch auf Deutsch war ein Austausch möglich. Als Gast hatte man nicht das Gefühl, durch das Mittagessen „geführt“ zu werden, sondern musste selbst viel mitarbeiten und nachfragen. Taschentücher wurden als Servietten gereicht, und das Besteck wurde lieblos auf den Tisch gelegt. Die Getränke kamen ohne jegliche Aufmerksamkeit – kein Eis, keine Zitrone, einfach hingestellt.

Essen Die Wartezeiten waren sehr lang, und die Gerichte wurden in großen zeitlichen Abständen serviert. So war es nicht möglich, gemeinsam zu essen, da jeder zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt sein Gericht erhielt. Das Angebot umfasst eine Vielzahl an Gerichten aus unterschiedlichsten „Küchen“ – statt ein Vorteil wirkte es eher so, als wolle man alles anbieten, ohne bei irgendetwas wirklich überzeugen zu können. Was dann serviert wurde, bestand fast ausschließlich aus frittierten, trockenen und geschmacklosen Speisen.

Bezahlung Auch die Abrechnung war umständlich: Der erste Kellner verstand den Wunsch nach getrennter Rechnung nicht, und ein zweiter Kollege trat noch unfreundlicher auf. Getrennt zahlen könne man nur über eine spezielle App – für Gäste mehr als unpraktisch.

Preise Trotz der schwachen Leistung lagen die Preise auf hohem dänischen Niveau, was die Enttäuschung zusätzlich verstärkte.

Positiv Die Lage auf dem Marktplatz vor der Kirche ist wunderschön – allerdings ist das allein der Umgebung zu verdanken, nicht dem Restaurant.

Fazit Insgesamt kein empfehlenswerter Besuch. Das Restaurant bietet die Qualität eines sehr einfachen Imbisses, was der schönen Lage in keiner Weise...
