I had a truly disappointing experience at Social Bar & Grill in Copenhagen Airport – and I feel compelled to share it, hoping it leads to improvement.
It started well – the waiter was friendly and recommended an excellent wine. However, things quickly went downhill. I ordered a rib-eye steak medium rare, but what I received was clearly medium plus. Worse, I was given dirty cutlery, which was not replaced until the chef herself brought the replacement steak (which, to be fair, was perfectly cooked) along with the proper steak knife – something I should’ve had from the beginning.
Later, I wanted to order an espresso martini, only to be told – without any prior notice – that I had to move to the bar area in order to do soas they are closing the area where I was sitting. The message was delivered in a dismissive and condescending manner by the assistant manager, George, whose overall attitude was both arrogant and borderline cynical. As someone who works in hospitality myself, I found the tone of the conversation frankly pathetic – a total mismatch with the level of service expected at any restaurant, let alone one at an international airport.
I was rushed to finish my wine and vacate the restaurant area without any understanding or courtesy. Naturally, I decided not to order the cocktail at all.
To make matters worse, when I asked if the bill could be issued to my company, George once again handled the situation in a cold, sarcastic tone – as if I was bothering him with a simple, reasonable request. There was no effort to assist, no professionalism, and no respect.
When I tried to share my feedback with the front desk, no one showed any interest whatsoever. The lack of basic hospitality – with the exception of the initial waiter and the helpful chef – was truly disappointing.
Despite the good wine and a properly cooked second steak, the overall experience was defined by poor service, lack of professionalism, and a condescending approach from someone in a leadership role. For a place serving international travelers, this is absolutely...
Read moreThis is a real tough review to do. It’s always hard to do hotel restaurants at airports because they have a bit of a monopoly on the food situation. We ate at this restaurant because it was in the hotel and we had nowhere else to eat. The price was of course high as are most food places when they have you hostage and in an airport. The incredibly friendly hostess, bar tender, and wait staff was impressive and probably saved this review. Every single person smiled and said hi. The issues came in when ordering the food. They make it hard to customize the food in anyway. Ordered the charcuterie which the menu said was served with toast…and it came with one half a piece of toast and two tiny little pieces of cheese. Next when my wife told the waitress that she wanted her burger medium the waitress said that they can’t cook the burger to any specification. That they can only do it “kind of medium”. I told the waitress I had never heard of that and asked why that was…..she said the chef only will cook it to medium. We both ordered the burger and when they came, I immediately noticed why they couldn’t cook to any specification. The burger is the size of a silver dollar and clearly pre-grilled and warmed in the microwave. The pork belly on the burger was huge and was pretty tasty. The fries were good. If you can eat before you get to the hotel it would be...
Read morealright i have to say the food is really good, we only had two fish tacos and a dessert but the quality was amazing
we were traveling and had an early flight so we just wanted to get a quick bite before bed, and i had a 20% off discount for being an expedia platinum member
however, this place is unnecessarily expensive, and it is clearly on purpose
a bottle of still water costs $9 USD and it was tiny, barely filling up the small water glasses
we literally just wanted some water after a long train ride and ended up paying $18 for a few sips, we also ordered cola and ginger ale, which turned out to be around the same price
again, the food was very good but they are charging $21 USD for a single fish taco, and the wait staff is trying to upsell you on top of it by saying how it is only an appetizer and it is small
honestly, do not come here unless you are super paid, even with the 20% discount it...
