Cortecito Beach — Attraction in Higüey

Playa del Cortecito is the brother of Playa Corales. Both are part of Playa Bavaro. if you walk from Corales, its hardly 10 min walk to Cortecito beach. While Playa Los Corales takes advantage of the wide palm-lined stretch of Playa Bavaro, Playa del Cortecito has a different approach as it is quite narrow. waves can reach to shop’s steps but photos are insta worthy. It is known as the beach with local bars, and it does offer many bars and clubs among its white palm trees with craft cocktails and music.

However, this enables a couple of super cool beach bars right at the ocean. Onno’s (bar and music) and Captain Cook (seafood restaurant) are famous among locals so it is the perfect hangout spot if you’d like to connect a bit with the Dominicans (usually resort-workers) around here.
