Pal Patio Punta Cana — Restaurant in Higüey

My cousin had their tacos and said they were amazing. We came in just for a bit but it was a good time. Our waitress Naomi was a sweet heart. She was prompt with my cousins food and our drinks. One thing I will say about DR they do NOT water their drinks! In the states you can tell by the taste of a shot if they watered it down a bit to make it last longer. Here thats definitely not the case. The hookah was also amazing. Being someone that has been preparing hookahs for years, I am very particular about my hookah and this one did not disappoint. The bill was less than we expected however we like to tip cash when we are on vacation. Unfortunately the atm machine did not work across from the spot so we told the waitress we would be back with cash and she said it was ok not to worry. We came back after finding an open bank that had an atm and came back to give her the tip. My cousin said she was shocked (i guess people dont usually tip or come back when they say they would) but she was very grateful. We will definitely be coming back.

Where we were there for this birthday party was at the far end of the venue and up perhaps 6 steps. 3 of us on time, and we waited 20 minutes until I went to the bar to order and get an ashtray. It all seemed to be someone else's responsibility. Ok The 2 ladies ordered 6 beers that come in a container with ice. Ok. I wanted to go solo with pay as you go, and there is sometimes a language issue, but uno cervesa por favor Presidente and you show your money should suffice yo get the message across. Obviously, I had placed an inappropriate order. Let's keep in mind that partying in the DR is different. Waitresses pay more attention to men who buy the whole bottle of whiskey vodka or tequila. I wasn't being served, found the music so loud because of where we were sitting, no atmosphere, big open space. I felt as if I were in Texas in an open air mega bar. Was not offered a menu. Did not eat Attempted to order 3rd beer waited 15 minutes, waitress has walked by me 2 times ...nothing? time to fly. Sorry folks Smaller groups...

Disappointing Experience at Pal Patio*

Beware of misleading ticket purchasing processes and false promises! I bought tickets for an event in person when it was advertised for purchasing through WhatsApp a d on Instagram online.

Misrepresentation: Online stated table selection with visibility, but area around table was crowded with non-table customers. Poor seating: Paid 3x more than entrance-only customers, yet they had better views. Unfulfilled promises: Owner, and manager unable to resolve issues or provide refund.

Additional issue

Original table selected by owner got drenched in rain. Seat swap offered, but new seat was beside the original, not an upgrade. Seat was given after convincing waitress that original customer were late, event started and it was pouring rain.

Tip: Save money, buy entrance tickets, and stand for a better view. Waitress service was excellent, but...
