Don Camaron 100% Mexicano — Restaurant in Higüey

This place is very overpriced for what you actually get, not to mention misleading with the menu description and pictures. I ordered shrimp tacos, the ceviche, and beef and pork tacos. The shrimp tacos were pictured on the menu as shrimps, but we received fried clumps of dough, and when we opened up the mass of soggy dough we found ONE single small shrimp inside. They attempted to pass this off as a shrimp taco, which is offensive to all the real shrimp tacos out there. The ceviche was too sour. The beef taco was hard, difficult to chew and the meat was clearly poor quality meat. Pork taco was decent which is the only reason this is 2 stars instead of one. I will not be bringing...

Please create a welcoming atmosphere... You almost didn't get my $$$...

Me and my family arrived at this restaurant and the waiter didn't say one word, instead, he looked at us. I had to ask him if it was OK to sit, then when we sat down, he didn't bother to come over to ask if we wanted drinks, BUT, when taking the order, he seemed to have warmed up and was nice enough to make suggestions and even show me pics/videos of a few items on the menu.

The price is what I would pay if I was home, so yes, a little overpriced, especially for what you get, BUT, the food was...

Best Tacos in all of Dominican Republic! This place offers a very authentic taco stand experience. It's hidden within a small lot in a little beach town, so it's not your typical franchise joint - which is GREAT!

Menu choices are just what you need - no more, no less. Food has great taste, quality is good, and prices can't be beat.

Wish these guys would open a second...
