Restaurante Hacienda Samaná Bay — Restaurant in Samana

I've eaten here several times and the food was pretty decent. Today I tried it again and I wasn't impressed at all. I ordered the seafood soup and it should have been called a vegetarian soup before it had only 1 shrimp, small tiny chunks of god knows what fish and a ton of diced up veggies. The flavor was good but not worth the price for what I received. My wife ordered the fish of the day and it was good but dry. Our main waitress must have been new because I could tell, hopefully she gets more training, as I'm ok with it because I know she's new, but some customers may get very frustrated with her sense of urgency or lack of completion of a request. The more experienced waiter was on top of his game 100%. He wasn't even my waiter but i had to tip him to as he had a sense of urgency and took care of whatever she forgot. Kudos to him. Usually I tend to be pretty reasonable with respect to reviews but I must say that the food was quite disappointing. After having read the reviews on google I decided to give the restaurant a try. I had the lobster and my girlfriend had the octopus. Lobster, a little bit dry perhaps but nothing much to point out. The octopus was extremely chewy and the side potatoes were raw! Despite pointing it out to the server that evening, they decided to take it back to the kitchen and try once again to improve it, came out exactly the same… what’s more at the end of the meal they they presented us the bill with a mere 5% discount nowhere close to the price of the dish which was 1,000 pesos and not edible. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. We had the full fish of the day in the coconut sauce and the octopus and the portions were great and everything was freshly made and flavourful.
