Read moreSamurai is the restaurant in the Dominican Republic that comes closest (in terms of atmosphere and dishes in general) to what you will see in Japan.
Starting with the atmosphere and the decoration, it gives you the impression that you are visiting Tokyo. A cozy place, despite the amount of people, you can enjoy with friends.
The menu has a lot of variety, starting with the dishes of Japanese origin, the one i was able to taste, are not very far from what you will eat in Japan, the decoration of the dishes is more Mediterranean. The other dishes that are Mediterranean inspired, taste ok, not a big deal.
Regarding the prices, they vary, but being fresh products, they tend to be a little higher, but they are within budget. The customer service is good, they care to know that you are well and that you are enjoying yourself, but due to the large number of people it can be delayed at some point.
Unfortunately there is no parking available, you have to resort to looking for places nearby to be able to park the vehicle.
Overall, I thought it's a good place to start a culinary adventure if you plan to visit Japan and want to get an idea of what you'll be...

After a Sunday afternoon of work, I treated myself to a sumptuous Asian meal.
I opted for Samurai, anticipating a top-tier dining experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met.
The prices were steep compared to the quality of the food. The food arrived cold, despite being only 8 minutes away from the restaurant. The Gyozas were the only highlight. The delivery process was a debacle, tarnishing the entire experience (If you're paying for an expensive meal, it should be flawless). The customer service blamed the delivery driver—a decent guy who might have simply made a minor error. I was hoping for exceptional customer support, but instead, they chose to point fingers at the driver. Disappointing!
I regret relying on Samurai for a rewarding meal after a long workday.
