Rayga Restaurant & Cafe — Restaurant in Al Hadaba

We went to this restaurant on recommendation of friend . It is inside the Prestigia Plaza , a little back away from the Old Sheraton Road , so tranquil . No traffic noise . Ambience beautiful. Decor impressive . Food and service - best I have had for years , both in Egypt and England , France and Italy. Everything was perfect and much better than expected. I took a simple carrot and ginger soup, followed by a chicken avocado salad . So simple- what can be so wonderful about that ?? I hear you say . We’ll, it was wonderful because of

1. taste . The soup was freshly prepared down to the grating of the carrots . The soup was sublime . Really sublime. As we ate it no one spoke except for noises of pleasure . The salad again absolutely fresh , cut at the moment we ordered. Chicken .Avocado … PLUS red green and yellow peppers , cucumbers, tomatoes, and kidney beans . All this tossed in a delicious dressing - it was superlative . Even the triangular wantons placed for decoration were freshly made and still warm!

2. presentation - high class . Whoever the chef is , he has been highly trained in luxury hotels . Everything was perfection.

3)Easy , polite , charming service . We arrived stressed and hungry and once we had eaten , we were happy relaxed and laughing . That is what really good food does , it makes you happy .

I have been a professional chef for 20 years - I know restaurant food . Because of the confines of “ immediate service” most food is prepped several hours in advance and is never completely fresh . In this restaurant everything was prepared as if we had our own private chef .

If you come here , stay awhile , don’t be in a rush , Give yourself time to really enjoy this culinary experience and relax into the warm and inviting atmosphere .

As we finished our meal we unanimously agreed to return for breakfast and dinner . After one meal this restaurant has become “ our restaurant “

Lastly the price - excellent. For two courses I paid 281 EGP ( compared to 400 EGP paid yesterday for one plate of mashed avocado) . I left 350 EGP because I truly felt this restaurant deserved a 20% tip . I have never tipped 20% before .

I unreservedly recommend this restaurant as the best in Hurghada . Enjoy...

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Hurghada. The food was amazing, good taste and healthy, the service is very good and the interior is lovely.

We could’nt finish all the food and asked if we could take it with us. It was no problem and they put it nice in a bag for us. It really was too good to not take with us and finish it later in the hotel.

I will defenitly come back here when I come back...
