The most iconic coffee shop in all of Alexandria, and part of the city’s cultural history. Originally founded by a Greek businessman named Sideris in 1929, it was part of a chain known as The Green Salon, which introduced freshly ground and roasted coffee to Alexandrians for the first time. In 1957, during the nationalization period in Egypt, the store came under Egyptian ownership. In 1959, a passionate entrepreneur named Mohamed Sobhy El-Malqi modernized the coffee roasting process by introducing electric roasting machines, replacing the old traditional methods. Nestled between vintage bookstores and old antique shops, the café has retained its original 1930s interior: a long bar, classic wooden chairs, marble counters, and vintage brass coffee grinders. Step inside and you’re immediately taken back in time, smooth Frank Sinatra tunes play in the background, mixed with the rich scent of freshly ground coffee.

I stumbled into this place occasionally, and was intrigued by the title. So, I wasn't expecting to find such a cosy place for coffee lovers. The coffee collection is impressive, the staff are super friendly and helpful. I chose blended iced coffee and that was better than all places in Alexandria, neither overly sweet nor watery. Can't wait to try grounded coffee from this spot.

100 year old coffee house, history all around the place, coffee beans grinded there at same time you drink, all type of coffee are there، I tried espresso, latte, cappuccino, and Turkish one. All are really great, staff are very helpful and treating us like friends, price are normal and not expensive, small area but cozy and alive, sure to go again soon, you well love it

One of the best coffee places in Alexandria It is a vintage place and almost exists a century ago A well know coffee to all Alexandrians It serves all types of coffee and also hot drinks They have some music performers weekly but don't know when exactly the days There are high chair tables and bar and some round small tables Prices are fair enough for the place and quality Also service is very good and very friendly The place is small but you never feel crowded And it has it's standards

Thank you for being a trademark...
