This venue is big. The numerous employees appeared to work well together. There is ample seating but it might not be accessible to those with physical disabilities. This is a family and group friendly venue. There is not parking; however, there are many taxis and a tram available outside.
This restaurant sells breakfast all day, lunch/dinner entrees and sides, as well as dessert. There are too many dessert options. My partner and I ordered the baklava cheesecake, a regular baklava, an apple pie, and coffee. The baklava cheesecake was terrible. The “cheesecake” wasn’t made out of your typical soft cream cheese. Instead it was firm and bland. However, the baklava part of the cheesecake was tasty, particularly the syrup and crunchy filo dough. My partner enjoyed the regular baklava. He appreciated the way in which the ingredients worked together. The apple pie was disappointing because the apples were bland and dry; the pie lacked syrup; and it lacked seasoning, like cinnamon and nutmeg. The cappuccino and American coffee were decent - I wouldn’t rave about the taste of the coffee but I would consider buying another cup in the future. I would not return for pastries. Also, I wouldn’t return because this restaurant is overpriced. It charges a double digit VAT tax and a double digit service fee regardless of the number of people in your party. Another downside is there are too many people in this cafe, so it feels more like a cafeteria than a cafe or restaurant. In addition, despite charging multiple taxes and offering a lot of seating this place doesn’t offer free WiFi. What in the early 2000’s is that about?! Nevertheless, I observed many people gleefully eating lunch/dinner; and I noticed the portions are ginormous. So, maybe the high prices justify lunch/dinner. I might return to try an entree.
Overall, though, I don’t recommend this venue if you seek a cozy cafe that serves delicious Western pastries. (Despite the use of the word “patisserie” in the restaurant name, there’s nothing French about this place.) However, if you want an overpriced, yet decent cup of coffee, something to munch on, and a place to rest and let your mind wander, then this...
Read moreI usually never write reviews, I wouldn’t think that I’d have to write a bad one especially about this place, their breakfasts are usually great however today was such a disappointment. I ordered a cherry cheescake that literally tasted rotten and had the texture of straight up hard gelatin. It was straight up unedible. I was shocked. I’m a hardcore cheesecake lover, I know what cheesecake tastes like. When I complained about it, I was met with such rude staff it was actually unbelievable how rude they were about it. They kept saying sorry you already had a bite out of it so theres nothing we can do, “if its so bad then why did you order it” “its supposed to taste that way you don’t understand” and when I asked the manager to atleast try it and tell me what he thinks, he just left me mid convo and was like sorry this is just how it is. The waiter even had the audacity to ask me to get up from my seat just to mansplain to me what cheesecake is supposed to taste like without any accountability what so ever for their behavior nor even a simple apology. The staff even started being racist towards my mother by the end of it by saying random words in Japanese while laughing at us!!!! And after all that they refused to take it off the check. I wish I was making this up. You would think that with this place being so prestigious and a landmark that they would care about their customers, but they don’t. At all. I’m beyond disappointed, I’m never...
Read morehorrendous. i am not one to leave bad reviews and i never have, but after today i really think i should. i’ve been going to délices every couple of years, and i can whole heartedly say it has completely changed. the quality downgraded drastically and the servers have no respect whatsoever, the place is dirty, unorganized, and its rare to actually get to speak to a server. my table was clearly dirty and they even served me and saw, yet no one cleaned until i requested. the food is seriously lacking love, its bland, tasteless, and almost every single thing is reheated, or so it appears from its rock like texture when i had a simple donut. they do way too much with their dessert, especially chocolate, and i’m saying this as a chocolate lover. they are not the same anymore. the place used to truly feel surreal and majestic, now its honestly just super low class. i bought guests with me expecting the service to be as good as it has always been, but lord have i embarrassed myself. when i spoke to a server about a dessert being literally inedible, he argued with me about how i’m wrong instead of doing the bare minimum and at least apologizing, and for context, i ordered a molten cake but all i got was just chocolate syrup. genuinely no cake, and the server unprofessionally argued with me telling me thats how it should be when its “heated”. as much as it hurts me to say this as a long term customer, do not go to délices. your money and dignity...
