Le Bistro — Restaurant in Cairo

Very nice cosy place with friendly staff. Lies in a special spot in Downtown cairo between the old cheap local pubs, which lack good service and the expensive "exclusive" pubs with their unfriendly atmosphere. The place offers both local and imported drinks. The cocktail menu though is not really worth it. Nice food menu and again welcoming staff.. but unfortunately not a very good taste in music. I have downgraded my rating of the place due to bad management. Do not leave your bottles in the pub if you use the bouchon service! We have found almost 3rd of the bottle was consumed in our absence!!

Update May 2018: I have downgraded this place to 2 stars only. Bistro is really poorly managed. The most horrible music and sound. Order some green salad with the drinks and it wasn't fresh. Seems as if the manager of this place is sabotaging it on purpose. I used to like this place specially that i live near by.....

I ordered liver and sausages then I got the beef with mushroom sauce and vegetables. The introductory bread was good and freshly baked I think (it was warm and fluffy from the inside). The liver and sausages with tahini sauce were amazing, the spices and recipe were on point. The beef with mushroom sauce was good but wasnt that great. The beef was cooked properly but the mushroom sauce was lacking some taste. The veggies were good. I was disappointed that the french fries were obviously not homemade and just deep fried like fast food restaurants even though this meal is expensive. The decor and music were good the tables and utensils were old and needed updating. Also, I came at 11.30 thinking they close at 2 am then turns out they close at 12, but the waiter made sure that I take my time and didn’t even mention it until I brought it up. Recommended if you are looking for a calm restaurant with good...

We ordered magret de canard. It was very good even if it was not one magret. It was a leg. An advice : check your bill cause they put on our bill filet tenderloin for 293 LE. When we told the guy he said "it's just the name that has changed" so I ask him what finally did we eat ? And I told him it's not the same price. We checked the menu and yes our magret cost 193 LE. They made very fast (too fast?) Antoher bill with the right amount. I advice this place for food but if you are a foreigner check...
