Full review..starting my review, I would like for you to know that it is one of our favorite places in Cairo for many years. The reason for the 4 stars will be noted in my review. The host should be more professional and dressed a little bit more classier. Food...no questions..EXCELLENT! And we wish that it will stay this way. We come to the problem...when we went on Friday the restaurant hours were to be opened until one, the staff pushes to close by 12 like the rest of the week. Which is very uncomfortable because we planned to stay until one and felt we were being rushed to get out by 12:15. When we went Tuesday, they were to remain open until 12 and started turning on the lights and pushing us out by 11:15. We think that there is either a shortage of staff of the training of new staff are not sufficient enough. For example, we had no ice bucket to our table and nobody to bring us ice. We had to wait or to wave a staff member over to assist us. This is new and odd for us. We are not used to this at our favorite place. This poor customer service will be the downfall to this amazing restaurant. By the time we were leaving last night (before 12) there was no staff around to talk to or to leave our bottle with. We hope that the management will take our concerns and work on it so that Sachi can remain a superior restaurant.
UPDATED REVIEW June 17, 2021.
Positive- staff make the difference with the experience. Mina was amazing, very attentive, work horse. He made sure we were taken very good care of and didn’t go without anything.
The new items that are worth the try - the sea bass is out of this world! The side dish of mushrooms is amazingly significant. The kale salad was good. Bar cocktail using your own alcohol is a very intelligent move. The filet mignon was very good.
Neutral - Lamb shanks we’re very well cooked and tasteless.
Negative- the new music is not nice. It’s horrible, caused headaches and palpations. Not restaurant music at all. He removed the old style and replaced it with a style (house music) that is not appropriate for a sit down restaurant. If it’s playing when we go back next time, it will make me rethink coming back again. It was that bad! Items have been removed, like the arugula salad. It was one of the best items that they had and it is easy to make. It doesn’t make sense that they removed it. Prawns were tasteless. I hope that they understand that prawns in Egypt taste better than anyplace else in the world if the get them fresh and not farm raised. PRICES -significant hike.
Overall experience was very good, not excellent due to the negative comments that were expressed.
UPDATE Feb 17, 2022
We revisited this establishment because we love the atmosphere and food.
We give it 5 STARS!
Service - Ahmed Remon 5 star service. Very attentive, had excellent recommendations and took pride in their job.
Music - very much improved. Very good selection and not too loud that you couldn’t hear your guests.
Food - recommendations:
Kale Salad - amazing! Tamara Dip - amazing! Beef tataki - amazing! Smoked beef tartare - amazing! Short rib with rice was amazing! Salmon sashimi appetizer (can’t remember the exact name and can’t find it on their online menu) was amazing! Very fresh and tasty.
Sachi continues to impress, improve and work on their weaknesses.
We can’t wait to go back to visit them again as it is one of the best in Cairo. Very deserving of their top 50 restaurants award for 2022!

Read moreI was very sceptical when my family decided that we will go there on my last night in Cairo. Knowing that in Egypt such places tend to get overhyped for a certain time & then reality hits & they fade away. I thought this would be one of those places as I heard alot of it, but boy was I proven wrong! I arrived a bit late to the group & was greeted by a friendly polite lady whom I gave the name under which we reserved. Surprise no 1: no arrogant person at the entrance who treats you as if they hold the key to heaven & they decide weather you are worthy to enter or not. She checked, smiled & accompanied me to the table where the others where waiting. The atmosphere was extremely BEAUTIFUL: lovely decoration & setting, PERFECT direct & indirect lightening, nice music mix & remix with perfect volume level allowing you to decide weather you want to have a talk with the others or listen to the music & maybe dance a bit on your spot. I got the menu & decided that I was in the mood for a salad. The others ordered suchi. Everyone was extremely satisfied. In particular I have to praise my Salmon Avocado Salad. The peak of my astonishment was when a beautiful remix of an Om Kolthoum song was playing I went to a speaker to Shazam it. I was disappointed when shazam couldn‘t find it. Not a minute later one of the staff came to me with a CD explaining that it was a house mix & gave me the CD for free. Wow on so many levels! I have to admitt that my scepticism about this place was squashed: . NOSTALGIC location in the beautiful historic Corba in Heliopolis reminding people of the beautiful old times. . BEAUTIFUL interior design with lovely furniture & decoration & PERFECT lightning. . LOVELY music . TASTEY food And last but DEFINATLY not least: . AMAZING Staff with not enough words to praise for giving the guests a wolcoming feeling going the extra mile to satisfy their costumer desires. For me to write such a lengthy review also tells HOW impressed I was with this place knowing that my next visit to Cairo will include a visit there for sure! To the Managers & Owners i say thank you for such a...
Read moreWe phoned up to make a booking on a Friday for that evening and they explained that they were busy but they could squeeze us in at 7:30pm, but pointed out that we had to give the table back by 9pm. To be honest we were a few minutes late and the manager almost told us off! He looked like he was in a panic despite the restaurant being virtually empty. From the moment we sat down, we were rushed along to the extent that I got indigestion. It was like a scene from National Lampoon's European Vacation where Audrey Griswold is being force-fed by butlers serving her dishes that she doesn't have time to finish before starting another, accompanied with the Jaws theme music and she blows up like a balloon!! Watch it if you haven't seen it, it's funny. Anyway our waiter - who to be fair to him had obviously been instructed to get us out as soon as possible - was literally breathing down our necks for the entire meal. I had to ask him to bring back some dishes that he'd removed before we'd finished them. I mean, come on, if it was that urgent, you shouldn't have accepted our booking. We were spending a fair bit of money as well, it wasn't like we'd nipped in for a salad. And to make matters worse, there were five tables free around us when they, quite literally, kicked us out. We didn't leave a tip and I felt bad for that as the waiter was just doing his job and taking instruction from the manager. The food was generally good. They say that there are vegan options which is not quite true. If it has cheese in it it is not vegan!!!! So being forced to go vegetarian, I found the food good but did have a lot of cheese in it and was super rich. My husband's fish dishes were good also. The cocktail I had was great - wasabi martini. It's sister and newer restaurant in New Cairo, Lexie's, is much better in...
