Disappointing Dining Experience at Windows Restaurant, Holiday Inn City Stars Cairo
I recently dined with my family at the Windows Restaurant in Holiday Inn City Stars Cairo for their Friday Italian-themed open buffet. The experience was deeply disappointing and fell far below the standards expected from an IHG property.
At EGP 1,100 per person, the buffet was extremely overpriced, especially considering the subpar quality of the food. Most dishes were cold and undercooked, tasting terrible and nowhere near the level one would expect from an IHG establishment.
The fish was particularly alarming. It was undercooked, tasted rotten, and I couldn't even swallow it for fear of getting sick. Such poor food safety standards are unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one in a reputable hotel chain.
This was meant to be a special family dinner, but it turned into a frustrating experience. My children couldn't find anything appetizing to eat, which is quite telling about the overall quality and appeal of the buffet.
When I raised these issues with the restaurant manager, their response was disappointingly apathetic. They merely stated they would "report this," showing little concern for our terrible dining experience or any intention to address the problems immediately.
Due to the severity of this experience and the lack of satisfactory response from local management, I will be reporting this incident directly to IHG upon my return to the United States. This level of service and food quality is unacceptable for an IHG property and requires immediate attention from higher management.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend the Windows Restaurant at Holiday Inn City Stars Cairo. The combination of exorbitant pricing, poor food quality, potential health risks, and indifferent management makes this a place to avoid. IHG needs to seriously review and improve the standards at this location to meet the expectations associated with...

For breakfast, they serve both local and international dishes. They have an omelet station, starters station, fruits and cereals, drinks station, and dessert station. They have a variety of hot dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.
Food is very tasty and well-cooked. Staff are very friendly and kind. They accept cash and card payment. They offer indoor seating with some tables overlooking the street.
For a Holiday Inn, they offer a huge buffet. Their pricing is extremely reasonable, and on...
Read moreI think of this restautant as the best value for money in town, especially for the Friday live cooking. You order your slection and they cook it and bring it to the table. Their pasta is among the best I recall. My family ordered chicken tawook, grilled beef fillet, Thai beef, Thai chicken, several to order salads, and fish. Friday's brunch is from 1 to 9 PM which is good timing for families. For the price, it is far better than going to Malls' restaurants. Highly...
