Worst restaurant experience in El Gouna. The food was extremely disappointing – most of the dishes were far too salty or simply lacked flavor. The prices are completely unjustified for the quality offered. For example, they charged nearly $70 USD for 1 kg of XL shrimp. While they did show us the price list before ordering, as a tourist coming in for dinner, it’s not something you would usually scrutinize in detail. On top of that, the variety of fish available was very limited.
At the end of the meal, the staff asked how the food was, but we didn’t give them an honest answer — we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.
What made the experience even worse is that just the night before, we dined at another seafood restaurant in El Gouna Downtown. The difference was like night and day – far better taste, higher quality, larger portions, and still cheaper than what we paid here.
Save yourself the disappointment and money – do...
Read moreThe restaurant was fully closed with glass so with 27* outside we felt a little bit like tomatos in a greenhouse. We asked white wine, Jardiniere du Nile, witch was on the menu, but they could only serve that in half an hour because they had to go and buy it first. Then I wanted lobster, witch was on the menu, but they did not have that. ( in a FISH restaurant, of all places!) Then the boss said he had BIG crabs, so I ordered that. The crabs he served had like 10 grams of crabmeat!!! I think he never saw a big crab in his life! The crab was served without a tool to crack the scale or to get the meat out of the legs of the crab. Also no moisten napkins to clean your fingers after eating. The entree, sea food kofta, was good and the seafood tajin also was good. But for the crab they asked 840EGP/kilo. 84EGP/kilo would have been a more correct price! So never again will I go there! 2073EGP...
Read moreChaotic but amusing. Taxi couldn’t find the place - it is on its own with building sites surrounding it. Locals like it and that is a good sign always. Food was fine, fresh and good value although dishes came 10 mins apart so no dining together to be had. We had to fight really hard to get any service at all and that seemed to be an annoyance as the staff were very stressed. We asked for a taxi to be called at the end of our meal but were told that they were too busy to make a call so we should wait 15 mins and ask again. 😀 loved that! So overall it was a bit of a comedy of chaos. It is clearly not very well managed - but, as long as you are chilled it all works...
