Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in Gamsha

The main reason of my rating is the extreme poor service. A very unfriendly atmosphere and beyond inattentive team (most of them). As a matter of fact, I have never experienced anything like this as a resident of Wl Gouna.

I walk in exhausted, without a word a menu QR code to scan was placed informs of me. Scanned and decided on what to eat. All of this and a very dry unfriendly environment. Thought of leaving, but was too late. Food was ordered. after a while food gets dropped on the table. Not a single word, not even would you like to order a drink…. Ate and finished and was debating to order more food or have dessert. Then all of a sudden the rudest snatched the utensils from my table, while other tables have the same basket of servings. That is when I felt more uncomfortable. When I asked why my table in particular? I was told you are done eating and you don’t need them. I was given tons of excuses of why the utensils were removed. I was not asked prior to that if I was done eating or if I would like to have a drink or dessert. That is when I asked for the manger, instead of the manger attending to the incident he started arguing in front of other customers. When I asked for the names one said Michael and the other said George. That is how bad it was surrounded by inhospitable team led by a manger could not manage the situation. That is when the bill was placed on the table. I kept avoiding talking to the manger and the other server named Michael / George so it does not escalate further.

That is in brief why I think it is a poor service of unfit for purpose team.

I asked to get in touch with the owners or someone more responsible, but I was told I don’t speak Vietnamese and the owner is not around before 20 September.

The sad part is that might have been one off incident, but will keep me avoiding the restaurant and provide negative feedback about it to others. Possibly many others went through similar experiences but stayed quiet.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – extremely Poor Service but great Food

As someone who appreciates quality dining, I was deeply let down by my visit to this restaurant. I had to send back the duck à l’orange not once, but three times—each time met with the same dismissive response: “This is how it’s supposed to be.” Unfortunately, what they claim is “how it is” was frankly inedible. Dry, flavorless, and poorly executed, it was one of the worst renditions of a classic dish I’ve ever encountered.

To make matters worse, on a separate visit, we ordered a salad that never arrived. When we politely mentioned it, the waiter argued with us repeatedly, insisting we never ordered it—rather than simply apologizing and fixing the mistake. It’s baffling how a place can deliver such subpar food and insist on making the customer feel at fault for their errors.

There’s a clear lack of accountability here, both in the kitchen and on the floor. Between the defensive staff and disappointing cuisine, this was a restaurant experience I wouldn’t...

Awful experience this week. Menu dominated by duck dishes only to be told when ordering, they had no duck! Ordered a chicken curry instead and asked for it to be made spicy…. Arrived at the table with 3 thin strips of chilli thrown on top, tasted it, it was basically a bland chicken & coconut soup with no spice. When i questioned this i was told that the chef was afraid to add chilli as they had previously had bad feedback for for their curry being “too spicy”, this despite me asking for it to be spiced up! In the end the waiter plonked a bowl of chilli paste on the table and said “add it yourself”. I left the meal, paid and left...
