Pottery Cafe — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

Went here after reading in Cairo360 that it's a great place for shisha... I arrived thinking it would have some sort of view as some of the photos suggested but no. It was in front of a busy road. You go inside and it's clearly poorly ventilated because it's smokey af. Presumably the manager who was dressed in a suit (in a very seemingly relaxed venue) asked me repeatedly if he could help me while giving me the up down and yeah it's Cairo and I'm wearing flip-flops. I kind of felt unwelcome based on what I was wearing (jeans and a t-shirt). Anyway they asked me so many times if it was take away that I finally said yes a cappuccino to go. I gave this place one star but the cappuccino was really nice other than that everything else was absolute (expletive). Plenty of places in Cairo for coffee and shisha so maybe do yourselves a favour and don't go out of your way to go...

With a colleague we stopped here observing the beautiful dishes that were followed to the Customers! We sat behind a warm welcome from the staff! They brought us the menu with a wide choice of dishes from appetizers to complete meat dishes, fajitas and much more! We waited a few minutes for the dishes to arrive but everything arrived! Abundant dishes, tasty, very seasoned with spices and vegetables! I really like this Egyptian cuisine! Very well cooked meat! The service was always attentive to our needs!
