DO NOT BOOK BEFORE READING THIS: let me tell you about my experience at Jewel Hotel Zamalek. Which is worse? the problems at the hotel or the fact that they neglect and ignore the problems at the hotel? Free to book a city view room which will give you 24 hours of non-stop traffic that will wake you up at night. Instead of installing heavier windows that block the sound. the hotel solves the problem by blasting music in the hallway 24-hours a day that also contributes to you not sleeping at night. Feel free to complain like I did and get moved to a pool view room. For some reason there is swim training and competitions that start at 4 in the morning and doesn't end until 1 a.m. You might get a little sleep because the swimmers get tired and take breaks for a half hour or so, but the coaches yelling and loud caveman grunts will wake you up as soon as you get comfortable. It's especially wonderful if you arrived to the hotel looking forward to a good night's sleep after 16 hours of travelling like I did. I hope you have a good data plan on your phone as the Wi-Fi does not work, does not connect, and if you complain other repeat guests laugh at you and tell you, "you are wasting your time." I have stayed in over 100 hotels and airbnbs in 2021, this by far has been the worst experience.

Read moreComfortable stay with warm Egyptian hospitality I stayed 4 nights at Jewel Zamalek Hotel Cairo, in different rooms, and overall, I had a very good experience. The location is excellent—right by the Nile and close to other well-known hotel brands. The rooms are large and well-equipped, with facilities such as a fridge, a hair dryer, dressing gown, and balcony. The hotel also has a pool, a rooftop terrace, and a restaurant, which makes the stay very comfortable. A special thank you to the night-shift receptionist and the bellman, as well as Rana and Shimaa, for their kindness and professionalism. Their hospitality really made a difference during my stay. I would only mention, politely, that the rooms on the 4th floor are not as beautiful or updated as the others I stayed in, but the overall quality of the hotel remains very good. I have also stayed at Jewel Sharm El Sheikh, and I am very happy with this brand—they maintain a consistent level of comfort and service. I would recommend Jewel Zamalek to anyone visiting Cairo who wants a spacious room, a great location, and warm Egyptian...
Read moreThe bathroom smelled so bad in our room throughout the entire time we stayed there (3 nights), and we reported this to the receptionist but no one did anything about it. Even though the hotel has an Olympic sized pool, the majority of the time it was occupied by the swimming team from the sports club next door. Because of Ramadan, the swimming classes were held in the evening and the coaches were continuously shouting throughout the night until 1AM. The swimming pool was closed during the day, and so we couldn’t use it at all. We only had breakfast one time during our stay because it was so poor and depressing. There was no menu and the hotel staff member would literally threw the plates of food at our table without any kind of interaction with us. We even had to ask for our drinks. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known if drinks were served with our breakfast. Overall, it was a bad experience staying at this hotel. The only good things about our stay were the location and the receptionist when...
