When I ordered a pepperoni and also a cheese pizza I had about 2 or so Egyptian change, although I could speak well enough (but not perfect Arabic) the staff was totally confused when I tried to explain to them I didn’t want they change.
Also, I asked them if the pepperoni was halal because in the U.S. it would not be, I assumed it would be and was partially just making conversation too. But the response was really as if they were unsure what to answer, but did confirm.
But their acknowledgement was so awkward I actually took out google translate to write out my question to make sure they understood me — though I clear spoke to them in Arabic.
