this very unusual restaurant is a natural and folkloric gem at the Centro Histórico zone, in the heart of the San Salvador where you can take a break of your stressfull days or tourist packages, and find an oasis after a long trip, and enjoy a magical salvadoran culinary experience. First, the restaurant is hard to find, and the entrance is not signed. Clients have to go through another restaurant in the first floor and find the door to an extense a steep and very uphill corridor that take you to this hidden restaurant. For disabled and/or incapacitated people it is a real challenge (1 star). At the entrance of the restaurant you'll received with an entrance fee ranging from 1 to 3 dollars. Really? a fee entrance? (1 star). The restaurant has a beautiful and unforgettable views that will produce beautiful pictures and memories. The restaurant uses the freshest seafood, chicken and meats on an individual small scale hard to share (1 star), mixing it with a delicious blend of butter, garlic, parsley, and secret seasonings sauces; just imagine the best meat, seafood chicken combinations to smother your plates with a variety of succulents complements from fresh shrimp, meat, chicken to vegetarian options on top of all their multiple complements modalities. This beautiful traditional but exotic restaurant has a metropolitan feeling perfect for globetrotter, hodophile and bohemians clients. As soon you sit out in the terrace you can feel that the atmosphere take your mind straight to a relaxing place. The restauranthas beautiful paintings with very cute designs on the walls, and a very colorful ceiling. However, all that illusion bubble burst due to the culinary experience, as the different but small chicken, seafood and/or meats platters among the other appetizers plates could NOT be easily combined, as they comes in personal sizes; looks like plates portions are individualized therefore are not enough to share among 2 or more clients. Also they offer a very good variety of delicious traditional pupusas. Being fair all plates cames in a very good presentation with a 5 out 5 stars excellent presentation. They have a very good variety of drinks and beers (5 stars). In just few words, the food was excellent, very nice flavors but there is plenty of work to improve on the portions sizes. Clients can enjoy a truly meats, chicken and seafood flavors. Great service, very kind waitress (5 stars) with relaxed atmosphere, including the bar area where you would enjoy the most cool and finest beers, drinks also great variety of wines. Read moreAt the top floor of an older building in the center of San Salvador. The military/police/security are around the area so it feels relatively safe. They tend to leave around midnight so that's when it feels slighty sketchy but everything is close by. Parking at the structure is $1 per hr so you can quickly get in your car lots of taxi nearby as well. Live rock en español and food is decent. Service is great and crowd gets into it. Cover is about $3 it drops to $1 after midnight....
Read moreIt's a great place to finish your visit to the historic center. Sadly, during week days you have to pay cover for no reason at all. There isn't even a live band playing or anything and the music is also not that good.
During thursdays to saturdays the place is really good, very alive and with live bands, basically the opposite. These days is worth it to pay the cover.
The entrance is next to a pupuseria and you have to walk a lot to get to the rooftop so take that...
