I wasn’t expecting much to begin with, since I have to be convinced that there are “higher” end restaurants in a developing country. I went in giving it a chance. I knew not to compare this establishment to other steak houses I’ve been to globally but there I was hoping to have a decent meal.
Our order was taken quickly, our cocktails were good. It went downhill from there. I gave a specific request to have our cuts of steak medium well and our hamburger order well done. Just to be safe.
We waited 1 hour for our dinner to be served, in the meantime no one came to apologize for the wait and to offer a complimentary appetizer. Which is customary in most establishments we frequent when there is an issue with the “back of the house”.
We asked the server what the hold up was at the 45min mark and she simply responded that they just turned over into a new menu and the cooks in the back are having some trouble with it.
If this is supposed to be a high end establishment, then there should be room for practice with the new dishes before it’s deployed.
We later learned that the proprietor of the restaurant was in the building. If this was the case then they should have personally gone to tables to perhaps give an explanation at the very least?
The experience was very bizarre, when we finally got our orders they were not cooked the way we ordered it. I sent the hamburger back and all they did was simply cut it in half and throw it back on the grill. We did not get a fresh burger. My order was cooked medium, again not what I ordered.
We went up to the bar to take a photo because we were told that the view of the old town was worth seeing. We politely asked a server to take our photo and he was put off by out request despite having had dinner just one floor below.
Another thing that needs work is consistency in your waitstaff. All should be trained to give their best service.
Having said all of the above, I probably won’t recommend others travelling into San Salvador to visit this restaurant since there is much to be corrected before it is deemed an excellent...
Read moreVery disappointed, discrimatory and rude. They treat people as low class because they do not wear a suit. I arrived to ask for seating for 11. I was wearing a sport jacket but i was told they can't seat me after 9 people arrived after me an they acted like their you know what don't stink. I went back the next day to see by myself to see if the food was atleast actually good. Overpriced and mediocre food. I have tasted better food with street vendors in Egypt. Good example of how you can turn away wealthy people simply because the hostess feels she has a devine power and is very unaware of her job. As a person of means i will say to others that you are better off to avoid spending your hard earned wealth in this place. It gives a very bad example to my Salvadorean heritage and efforts the country is making to welcome tourist. It is clear they have made an effort to create a service culture that is counter to their...
Read morePlease be cautious, as this location can be considered a tourist trap. While the scenery is undoubtedly beautiful, the food leaves much to be desired. My ribeye was prepared incorrectly not once, but twice, and the quality of the meat was fairly average. Service was lacking, likely due to an insufficient number of staff for the volume of patrons. Despite having a reservation, my boyfriend and I were seated in the bar area, uncomfortably close to an exceedingly loud speaker. Typically, I don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to offer a warning about this place. There are many fantastic restaurants in El Salvador where you can enjoy a meal worth your money—unfortunately, this is not one of them. I strongly advise...
