Repa Restoran — Restaurant in Tallinn

There are many food places at Ülemiste. We needed something quick, but did not want to go to Lido, which would cost around 30% with the same quality of food. We did not pick Lido, because of: kids corner. Repa has a good one; the number of visitors... Repa was empty. the service... which we did not get.

It was slightly after 1500, when we arrived. The restaurant was completely empty, there were 3 waiters and 1 barwoman working; they seemed to be "busy" and, since we were in the rush i went to pick up the menu. Immediately, one waitress approached me, removed the menu and strictly said "its in English, sit by your table, ill bring you the menu". At that point, it was not important to me in what language the menu was, I just wanted to make an order, and imagery is self explanatory. When the menu was delivered, I asked her if we needed to remove shoes for the kids corner, and she replied "yess" trough her teeth.

Ok, 10 minutes later, we were blessed by another waiter, who took our order... where one dish was mixed up. It indeed had similar ingredients, but was different. The waiter did not bother to say "sorry", instead he said "there was an error, give me 2 minutes"... and the right dish appeared shortly. In the meantime, no attention was given to dishes, that were waiting to be taken back to the kitchen...

The food was ok, its not cheap by any means, but not that expensive. But with this service, I could not justify paying 40 eur for lunch, where waiter did not even think to apply any discount for mix up with the dish.

Huvitav on istuda restorani lauda, mis rõhutab metsa ja kodu teemat aga teenindaja pöördub sinu poole esimese lausena vene keeles. Ükski teenindaja ei rääkinud puhtalt ja arusaadavalt eesti keelt, ega inglise keelt. Osati ainult teatud lauseid, mis olid selgeks saanud, kui sügavamale proovisid tungida ei saanud teenindaja midagi aru, teenindajatel puudus plaan ning jooksid pea laiali mööda restorani ringi, minu külastuse jooksul suutis neil juhtuda 3 erinevat õnnetust: Küünla ümber ajamine, lapsele otsa jooksmine, nõude maha pillamine. Omavaheline keel oli teenindajatel vene keel, restorani telekatest jooksid vene keelsed reklaamid ning nende restorani turvustav saates olnud lõik ka (üdini) vene kanalilt. Toiduks sai tellitud hinnaliselt kallimad toidud: tatar ja veiseliha steik. Tatar oli jube - maitsetu, parmesani maitse käis üle, mida oli ohtralt peale aetud, juurde oli pandud 3 suurt viilu täisvilja saiia, mis olid õhukesteks lõigatud ning röstitud, kuid pehmeks end oodanud, ei olnud värske, midagi ei sobinud seal omavahel kokku, väga jube oli. Peale eelrooga võeti taldrik ära ning teenindaja ütles, et veiselihaga läheb veel 3 minutit aega. Möödus 13 minutit ning liha jõudis lauda. 21€ veiseliha steik??? - Tegu oli 1 minuti veisesteigiga - kõige odavama veise tükiga, mis oli valgeks küpsetatud, kohati oli tunne, et liha oli aurutatud ja tekkis samuti kahtlus, kas tegu oli veiselihaga, kuna tekstuur oli kui seal ja kohatine värvus oli lihal kui seal. - selle eest siis 21€? Pildil lubati ilusat ja paksu veisesteiki - tuli lauda väikene peenike ja odavaim veise tükk, mida kasutatakse tavaliselt praes jäägina. Lahkusin restoranist 40€ võrra vaesamana ja vägagi halva kogemusega. Leian, et keeleinspektsioon võiks kõik Repa ja Pelmn resotranid üle vaadata ja omad järeldused teha. Ei soovita, ülimalt halb kogemus, kui isegi midagi havatleb selles restoranis siis soovitan ikkagi eemale vaadata ja seda...

This is a terrific restaurant that seems to attract local Estonians, ethnic Russians and tourists like myself. After having been to Tallinn 5 times, this is the first and only place I would say I was blown away by the food, service and atmosphere. Everything was incredibly yummy and well-presented. For its price, the service and portion sizes were amazing. The decorations in the shop and the use of natural lights was also wonderful. I think I’m definitely going to be a return customer here every time I am travelling to and from...
