Restaurant Ormisson — Restaurant in Viljandi linn

The restaurant is beautiful & very clean. The food was absolutely delicious! We had a 3 course meal: starter, main & dessert. The stuff was very friendly. The only thing to consider: it takes a while to receive your order. We arrived at 12pm for lunch & received our main course only around 1pm when the restaurant has been almost empty. However, I believe it is only because they had only two waitresses (both of them had to work in their Cafe place as well) & only one chef. Also, we visited with our dog & before making a booking we asked if dogs are allowed. So just in case you are travelling with your well behaved pooch it also will be a +. Beautiful restaurant with an elegant interior. Although the food is delicious and there are various interesting options in the menu, it is rather overpriced for a small town such as Viljandi. For such prices, I would expect something even more. In addition, perhaps and hopefully it was one case but the service was not pleasant but rather cold, bossy and unprofessional. I truly hope that this is something that could be improved. In general, I am happy that Viljandi has a bit fancier restaurant with nice food...

Associated with the Park Hotel. Really interesting setup, especially how the cafe component is connected to the Hotel component. It really is very nice, would take my No 2 rating in Viljandi behind Fellin at No 1. The part about it that I don't personally find appealing are the high backed dark blue chairs.
