MK's Kitchen Bar — Restaurant in Addis Ababa

First off, being a solo woman in Africa is challenging and one could expect to be ignored and get horrible service when dining alone. This is what happened here. I ordered a salad and they took forever to bring it out. All of the servers were focused only on the tables with men. By the time I got my salad I had to eat in a hurry because I had an appointment after. Lo and behold I found a piece of metal in my chicken! I tried to flag down a server to no avail. No one ever came to check on me, ask if I needed anything, or even respond when I tried to flag them down. Then it took another 20 minutes just for them to pick up my plate. I was upset with finding metal in my food (I have photographic evidence) and the horrible service. Needless to say, unless you're white or male, avoid this place. If you're female, by yourself, and black, and dare to come here, expect rude staff and horrible service. Had lunch and diner here today. Not because its so amazing, rather convenient to go from my hotel. Lunch was Pizza Margarita. Normal size was huge. The large is definitely for sharing. For a margarita too much cheese and garlic. Service at lunch time was ok. Nothing took too long. To be honest, restaurant was almost empty, so no big achievement to be present as service staff. Dinner was different. Ordering went quick too, but then service deteriorated somewhat. Second round of beer was hard to order and when it came to paying the bill- its seemed nobody wanted our money nor stopped any of the waitresses to clear the table or asking for anything else, bill, taste of food etc. Asked three different waitresses about the bill, still took them 25 minutes. On August 18, 2022 I took my best friend to MK's and Sat in the back of the restaurant and there are also two couples was near us. Server with yellow vest keep taking orders for all tables but us. I was very patient though she was busy. Good fifteen minutes past started getting frustrated then called her. Don't have a vegetarian food since my friend was fasting only choice was French 🥖 fries that was don't have it. We decided to have a soft drink been told by the waiting person can't have it unless we order food. Anyway finally she brought us sprite and Sparkling water sip it two paid full price and tip left to nearest by Bole medhinalem noodles place had a blasting night.
