We visited Yobez Traditional Restaurant at Adwa Street, Addis Ababa several times during January 2024 and enjoyed our experience immensely. This is a tastefully decorated cute and cosy traditional Ethiopian restaurant. We had telba(nutty flaxseed juice), habesha beer, tibs(stewed beef), beyaynetu(variety dish platter), shiro(lentils) and atakilt(mixed vegetable). The food and drinks were delicious and of good quality, served with the warm hospitality of Ethiopian culture. A special hand-washing ritual was performed, enabling us to wash our hands at our seats before and after a meal, with warm water and soap. Prices are very reasonable. The owner of the place Beza - a university graduate entrepreneur- is a very sweet and warm person. She speaks English fluently and is a very interesting conversationalist. She gave us a lovely insight into Ethiopian culture and made us feel so welcome. A big big thanks to her. Beza is also a tour guide. We cherished this experience and would love to go back to Yobez soon ! Sudeshna Dasgupta, Chandan...
Β Β Β Read moreI recently took my tourist clients to Yobez Traditional restaurant to experience the traditional coffee ceremony, traditional drink Tella and Ethiopian cuisine like enjera. I was blown away by the warm hospitality, the rich flavors and the cozy ambiance of the restaurant. The coffee ceremony was a highlight of our visit, and the expertly roasted coffee beans were brewed to perfection. The Tella, a traditional Ethiopian alcoholic beverage made from fermented barley, was also a hit with my clients. They loved the unique flavor and the fact that it was a drink only found in Ethiopia. The food was fresh, delicious, and true to the Ethiopian culinary tradition. The friendly staff made the experience even better. It is highly recommended to anyone interested in Ethiopian culture...
