Sauli Kemppainen's Harbore turned out to be an excellent experience. The reindeer tartare was a professional's demonstration of how tartare should be, the texture of the reindeer meat was spot on, and the combination of flavors on the plate worked seamlessly. The main course was lamb, and I can't find any fault with it. I eat meat quite often and have high standards, but the lamb was perfect. For dessert, there was Skyr with raspberries, which I thought was the crowning touch. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I also enjoyed the old Finnish music, although my companion didn't care for it as much, but it resonated with me. Read moreWe had a stroll in the city with my friends and decided in the same time to check out the new Harbore restaurant by the known Finnish chef Sauli Kemppainen (Michelin stars from previous restaurants, main host of Finnish Hells Kitchen, several successful projects abroad). The restaurant is located in the new hotel with Finnish wood as its primary element. Most of the food here is made from domestic ingredients. The menu is interestingly reduced so that the portions are always prepared from two ingredients. I had scallops and cauliflower as an appetizer, which was skillfully built and deliciously tasty. My main dish, lamb and potato, was also delicious. You wouldn't think this restaurant is a hotel restaurant but a fine dining place. The food is quite expensive, but the price-quality ratio is good. We...
