Children's Town, located within the Helsinki City Museum, offers an interactive and playful way for visitors to explore Helsinki's history.
The exhibit is filled with a range of engaging activities. Kids have the opportunity to hop into a horse-drawn carriage, take the helm of a ship in a recreated 18th-century scene, play in a 1970s-style grandma's house, and be part of a 1930s elementary school classroom. There is also a dedicated area for the youngest visitors, featuring marine-themed play, reading, and relaxation. The exhibition showcases a collection of popular toys from various eras, such as little ponies, mutant turtles, and Star Wars figures. Children can also engage in activities like playing in an 18th-century shop, practicing old writing tools from sandboxes to blackboards, and participating in puppet shows and theater costume role-playing.
A key feature of Children's Town is its hands-on approach, encouraging children to touch and interact with the displays for a more immersive learning experience, under the watchful eyes of their parents or accompanying adults.
Children's Town is open from 11 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and 11 AM to 5 PM on weekends. Admission is free for everyone. The facility also includes a café, a gift shop, a relaxation area, and a...

Nothing beats teaching our child how to dial a rotary phone or experiencing a turn of the century school room, or putting on a puppet show! What a fun, AMAZING museum! The cafe was equally wonderful with DELICIOUS...
