Kotipizza — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

This pizza place is a bit on the expensive side, but you are getting what you're paying for!

First of all the usual man working in this specific location is super friendly and always makes me feel welcome back.

Place is on a good location, there's not much traffic—even though it's in a corner of an intersection–making it possible to sit on their nice little terrace on a warm summer day, that the worker said he puts much effort daily in to keeping it clean, but not many people use it, against his wishes. Inside, this pizzeria has a nice, modern decoration, making it enjoyable to eat indoors as well.

Pizzas are top-quality. Probably the best ones you can get for this price (from a chain-restaurant). My pizza with ham actually tasted like proper ham, which was a shock for my taste buds at first, having been used to those cheap pizzas. They use local ingredients as much as possible and make sure that for example the fish they use is bought from local fishers that support sustainable fishing!

If you're bored of typical pizzas, they got some more special ones available as well!

The only minus I can find is their drink selection. No beer (or other alcoholic drinks), so you'll need to stick with soft drinks that are overpriced even on draft. Luckily on lunch offer, it's included in the price of the pizza.

Kotipizza serves average pizza. The soft drinks were also quite watery and the tables didn’t seem to be properly cleaned.

However, the reason I’m writing this review is quite remarkable. Last week, I ordered a pizza which is normally served with feta. I asked to replace the feta with mozzarella and received a hot pizza with just four cold chunks of mozzarella on top. I didn’t think I would be so surprised by a pizza but this experience left me speechless.

We ordered the KANA KOTZONE, a delicious half-folded pizza stuffed with chicken and a refreshing salad. The combination was flavorful and satisfying. The prices are reasonable, making it a great choice for both locals and tourists.
