Ravintola Rodolfo — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy and the service was excellent, but the food was somewhat bland.

We ordered a four dish menu (48 €) containing Salmon carpaccio, gnocchis, veal with rosemary potatoes and chocolate cake. The layout of all of the dishes was beautiful, but the flavors were disappointingly mild. The Salmon had some salt crystals and caper to pop up the salty taste, but the flavors of salmon and cheese flakes disappeared completely behind these. The gnocchis had some mild sweet flavor, but it turned very monotone after the first few bites. In the main course, the veal with rosemary potatoes, the strongest taste was the natural flavor of the broccoli on the plate, which was surprising since the dish contained bacon and meat. In a few mouthfuls the rosemary could be found, but it felt like the seasoning of the plate had been forgotten. The dessert, chocolate cake, worked very well with the berry jam it was served with, but my companion disliked the jam and the cake was very dry an floury without it.

This was previously one of our preferred lunch restaurants but they rearranged the menu and the interior and it just didn't feel right. However, I happened to give them a chance again. The pizza that I had was SUPERB as were the ones that my lunch company had. For the first time in Finland I got fresh oregano when I asked for some! Only complaint that I have is that the waiting time for the food is just too long, this is not good when you're out for lunch. That is the reason...

Kävin useamman kerran legendaarisessa Rodolfossa noin 20 vuotta sitten - kyllä oli maittavaa ja autenttista italialaista kotiruokaa. Todella sääli millaiseksi ”taso” on mennyt. Olimme 4hengen seurue lauantaina Rodolfon tyhjässä ravintolassa syömässä. Olimme ainoat asiakkaat mutta palvelu oli silti tuskaisen hidasta. Tilasimme 3x lasagnen ja 1 pestopastan. Ruoka oli niin alaluokkaista, että ei meinaa sanoja löytyä. Ruuat taisi olla mikroruokaa, jos muuta väittävät niin miten tuommoisen ruuan takana voi seistä ylpeänä? Lasagnessa ei ollut valkokastiketta laisinkaan, tomaattikastike oli suoraan purkista, jauhelihakastikkeessa oli isoja kuivia ja sitkeitä pekoninpaloja, ”pancettaa”, lasagnelevyt olivat täyttä mössöä. Koko mössö ruuan olisi pystynyt haarukalla sekoittamaan soseeksi alta yksikön. Pestopastassa maistui poltettu v.sipuli ja kamala määrä suolaa, sekä täysin ylikypsää spaghettia. Epäilen suuresti, että tässä paikassa on varsinaista kokkia valmistamassa ruokia. Nämä ovat varmaan samasta tehtaasta tilattuja ruokia kuin vanhustentaloihin. Miten voi rinta rottingilla tarjota tämmöistä sontaa asiakkaille ja vielä laskuttaa?? Säästä rahasi ja mene muualle - ei tänne. Valitettavasti - tämä ei ole enää Rodolfo vaan mikroruokien lämmityspaikka. Tilasimme italialaista linonadia - erikoista ettei limonadilla ollut mitään nimeä, ei näkynyt tölkkiä/ploa. Taisi olla tiivistemehua soodavedellä. Vieläkin puistattaa...
