I visited Tinku Helsinki with my daughter on my birthday. We had already chosen the dishes we wanted at home from the restaurant’s website, where the menu appeared very limited. However, when we arrived, the menu was different. The dish we had selected online was not exactly the same as on the restaurant’s current menu, and the price was almost 10 euros higher. The waiter explained that the menu had changed the previous Saturday – this was on a Tuesday.
In addition, there were no mocktails available, which I found surprising; usually cocktails can easily be made alcohol-free by leaving out the alcohol. The restaurant was also quite warm inside, and from time to time there was thick smoke/steam in the air with a strong smoky smell.
On the positive side, the food we ordered was quite good, and the service was friendly. The interior was decorated in line with the restaurant’s theme, and the Latin American atmosphere could really be felt.
Unfortunately, as a first visit – and on my birthday – the overall experience left a somewhat negative impression. Perhaps I will give the restaurant another chance in the...
Read moreTinku Latin Flavors is without a doubt one of the best Latin restaurants I have tried in Europe. Their variety of ceviches, especially the Peruvian one, is incredible. I used to not be a fan of ceviche, but after trying it here, I went back twice just to have it again. The staff is very nice and they all speak both Spanish and English, which adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. They also sell products from Latin America, like Inca Cola, which is one of my favorite colas in the world. In the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the good weather, and sometimes they even have live music. They also celebrate national days of different Latin American countries, which is a great touch. Prices are on the higher side, but they are absolutely worth it for the quality of the food. If I could, I would go as often as possible. Definitely one of the greatest restaurants I have tried...
Read moreFood was really good, brought great memories from Peru and for dinner, they have affordable prices. Good location. Nice to watch in wall exhibition of latin artists living in Finland. I suggest to take care of details to have a more full customer experience. Waitress looked that didn’t know menu( which is not so extensive) we had to repeat drink and food selection several times. They communicated it was not available Lomo Salteado, our main reason to go there and most emblematic dish of Peruvian food, but it was just Saturday 7pm! bad feeling later when we saw they brought lomo salteado later to table next who arrived later than us. Nice Latin music but bit loud to have a conversation with friends. They didn’t have available more paper menu when we asked for dessert and We had to stand and go to watch them and finally, mistakes on bill because the...
