Le River — Restaurant in Angoulême

Has lots of potential but...

It's the second time I've been here for a big group meal and dancing.

This time the food service was very slow, our table weren't given bread until we'd asked three times, everyone else had finished their starters. There was a problem with the main course for two of us and again we had to wait for a long time for them to arrive by which time the others on the table had finished their meals.

The music was occasionally great dance music but there were way too many songs there were impossible to dance to which was a shame for a large group who wanted to dance...

Very nice river side terrace setting with high quality tapas-style food, no complaints to the chef!

The one star rating stems from the rip-off attempts: first serving food plates that were not ordered and then charging a suspiciously high price for the meal and drinks for three. Food is excellent, price is good for higher end restaurant (eg €15-30 for a main course) open later than most nearby restaurants, beautiful location on the river. No English menu, but waiters and waitresses did their best to translate and very friendly. Good wheelchair access to outside terrace and inside.
