A typical Western restaurant. The concept of Western cuisine seems to be dominated by American and Italian styles, often associated with large cuts of beef, lamb chops, or various fast-food-style items. The key element is to have French fries to make it truly Western. French cuisine, on the other hand, doesn't seem to specialize in steaks and chops. So when the dishes at this restaurant were served, it brought back a long-lost familiarity of classic Western plating. Initially, I thought it was American cuisine, and it wasn't until I saw Tiramisu and Panna Cotta that I realized this was actually an Italian place. The medium steak was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful pink hue on the inside as expected for medium. The accompanying salad and fries were fairly standard, and the salad dressing used here wasn't as delicious as in other restaurants. Ketchup and mayonnaise came in the typical take away pack, giving it a fast-food feel. The desserts appeared to be pre-made, similar to what you'd find in a supermarket. Hence, the speed of serving wasn't as slow as some homemade places. The menu was only in French, but there seemed to be English, yet not quite. Just like the waitstaff here, even though they clearly understood English, they preferred to speak French and occasionally threw in random French phrases. Thankfully, body language is universal, or else it would have been quite challenging to place an order here!

Stopped in for lunch after visiting the Saturday market in Arles and had a lovely savory crepe with cheese, mushrooms, and chicken. My boyfriend had the same thing but his crepe had duck instead of chicken. Also enjoyed a nice pot of oolong tea. The staff was friendly and the food came pretty quick. If you are looking for crepes, this is your spot.

A café-restaurant connected to the interior of the Espace Van Gogh building. There is a pillar with Van Gogh’s painting right in front of the café tables. You can enjoy a view of the garden while having lunch. They offer salads, burgers and coffee. It’s a friendly, delicious, and convenient place to have a meal.
