Huguito — Restaurant in Arrondissement of Nanterre

I am getting to this review really late, as we visited Huguito last year, but I hope that serves as a testament to how much this meal has lingered in our minds since!

We were on our way to the Paris La Defense area for a concert weekend and needed to find somewhere to stop and have a meal on the way. After reading some reviews online, we settled on Huguito, a quiet restaurant boasting bold flavours on their menu.

We visited for lunch at around 12:30 and it was really quiet - we were the only people in the restaurant for a good hour. Our waiter was absolutely incredible and the service was super fast.

Now, onto the food - everything was gorgeous from start to finish. The homemade guacamole starter with chips was so fresh-tasting with beautifully balanced flavours, the Argentinian meat main course was perfectly seasoned and cooked (this was a real highlight - the meat was so tender) and the chocolat fondant dessert was rich and indulgent, pairing perfectly with the fruit purée and ice cream it was served with. I was even blown away by the mocktail I ordered, featuring mango, passion fruit and basil flavours. It just worked so perfectly!

Nice little restaurant run by friendly staff. I really liked the authenticity of the flavours coming from fine ingredients. As I said when leaving "It's the surprising mixture of tastes coming combing them. That's what makes this food a delight."

Accompanied with a nice wine this was a really good meal. Depending on your appetite I would suggest to share one starter. We had two and to be honest we could have done with just one. The main coarse is enough for a moderate eater and that way you can even get a desert.

The location of the restaurant is perfect; calm street and easy to reach. It's a welcoming environment and the staff is accommodating and affable. The food, unfortunately, for the price, it's not up to the level it should be. The meet was served cold, and nobody ever asked how I liked it cooked; a part of the dish ordered wasn't well cooked and the core wasn't soft as it should be.
