I am of the opinion that honest feedback is required in order to effect change. We are an Indian- English physician doctor couple in our late 50s / early 60s that have traveled the world and been to at least 200 Michelin star restaurants and over 500 Michelin mentioned /Bib gourmand establishments. I am sorry to inform you this is by far, the worst experience that weâve ever had. After we were seated it took 30 minutes before I asked who was our server. We waited another 45 minutes for sparkling water in 94° heat. We had ordered water and cocktails and the waiter said that the bar was too busy for providing us with sparkling water or cocktails but wanted us to order food and wine before we even received water and cocktails. The service was terrible. The cuisine was definitely not high-quality cooking. The presentation or the flavors were not that I would expect of a Michelin mentioned restaurant. I waited in line at the front desk ( not at our table) to pay as instructed by our waiter. Another gentleman was taken ahead of me who happened to be Caucasian and I happen to be Indian of English upbringing. The Caucasian was allowed to pay his bill first while I waited. I reminded the host and this person that I was in line before them. I was asked sarcastically âoh you must be a Nobel laureate?â The whole experience was so unenjoyable. Iâll be writing to Michelin as well to inform them that many things need to be corrected for this establishment for the designation to be even Michelin mentioned. We'd just finished walking the Pope's Palace and were welcomed very genuinely by the initial doorman and the maitre de. The three course meal was excellent in quality and presentation. As an example, my partner had asparagus, pecorino and jambon, with a delectable sauce, which I tried to steal. I enjoyed the tuna which was a lovely start to a beautiful evening. We enjoyed a bottle of Sancere. The mains were also perfect in taste and quality of presentation. The food is balanced with warm and authentic service. It didn't get much better than thus our entire month in France. Yet there is much more to this beautiful venue than the fine dining, as you also have a delightfully curtained off wine bar, and a well hosted cocktail bar with fabulous music curated by their lovely wine bar manager... music and cocktails are mixed perfectly! Alors toujours dĂ©cidĂ©es nous rĂ©servons le soir pour les fameuses tapas ( que nous ne goĂ»terons finalement pas). Le soir, nous nous prĂ©sentons Ă lâheure de la rĂ©sa et une dame nous accueille et nous dit de choisir une table de chaque cĂŽtĂ© de la fontaine oĂč bon nous semblait. Nous nous exĂ©cutons. Le cadre est trĂšs agrĂ©able, le serveur qui nous a pris notre rĂ©servation le midi nous dĂ©pose les cartes ( en nous disant ha! je vous ai vu ce midi )et oui mĂ©moire sĂ©lective vous verrez⊠On regarde la carte et pas de tapas dessus. Nous appelons au bout de 20 minutes et un serveur trĂšs sympa arrive nous lui expliquons que nous avons rĂ©servĂ©s pour des tapas mais que nous ne les voyons pas sur la carte, il nous dit câest normal, on vous a donnĂ© les cartes pour le restaurant. Il nous explique que le bar Ă tapas est lâendroit au fond de la cour ( tout sombre et oĂč il nây a personne) mais que vu que nous sommes installĂ©es, depuis 1/2 heure bientĂŽt, nous pouvons tout Ă fait les manger lĂ oĂč nous sommes et quâil nous apporte les cartes de suite. On opte pour cette option proposĂ©e rester lĂ oĂč nous Ă©tions. Celui qui nous a pris notre rĂ©servation le midi vient nous voir pour prendre la commande mais nous lui expliquons que nous câĂ©tait pour les tapas et que nous nâavons pas eu encore la carte et que son collĂšgue nous a permis de dĂźner ici ( au-lieu dâĂȘtre au fond dans le cĂŽtĂ© sombre, mĂȘme pas intime sombre.) il fait une drĂŽle de tĂȘte, va parler au serveur et revient 3 minutes plus tard, pour nous dire quâil va falloir quâon bouge au bar Ă tapas que sa responsable nâest pas dâaccord et que le midi nous ne lui avons jamais parlĂ© de tapas ( mĂ©moire sĂ©lective ou se payer nos tĂȘtes en bonne et dĂ» forme). Nous sommes arrivĂ©es au fond mais, franchement lâendroit peu accueillant et la façon de faire agrĂ©mentĂ©e de la mauvaise foi du serveur nous a dĂ©cidĂ© Ă partir dĂźner ailleurs. Impossible de donner notre argent Ă des personnes qui ont si peu de considĂ©ration pour leurs clients . Au final, nous avons trouvĂ© un autre restaurant certes avec un moins joli cadre, mais oĂč on ne prend les clients pour de la pure monnaie. Jâai mis mon avis dĂšs le lendemain mais visiblement il pâa Ă©tĂ© refusĂ© 3 fois pourtant il nâĂ©tait pas si diffĂ©rent que celui-ci et câĂ©tait le 30/09/23 que cela sâest produit.
