Côté Sushi Avignon — Restaurant in Avignon

The restaurant looked very nice so we came in. Good looking shop but WORST service ever. First of all, we were looking at our menu with a dirty table which took a lot of time to be cleaned. Whilst ordering, we were told that 4 of 6 menus we were ordering were unavailable. I believe this should have been mentioned when we received the menu. One of the drinks were unavailable too. Our food came out, but we had no utensils on the table. We were waiting with hot food and nothing to eat it with. The server took so long we stood up to grab utensils for ourselves. We did not have any drinks until we finished half of our food. We had to mention it ourselves, call the waiter and say we did not get any drinks yet. Not even water. It was UNBELIEVABLE. We finished our meal, we were asked if we want our dessert. We said yes she came back and said there is no dessert too. I would understand if the restaurant was busy with lots of people but there was literally 3 tables for her to serve. It was the MOST TERRIBLE experience ever. I have had enough French cuisine in the middle of my trip of South of France, was craving for some sushi, and I found this Japanese x Peru sushi place, which was exactly what I wanted!

Lots ceviche and cali style sushi rolls (sth like chotto maki) which I liked a lot! I liked that deep fried sushi rice topped with Salmon tartare a lot! Everything was quite strong in flavour, which I liked a lot. As I’m always a big fan of ceviche, I was so happy with this meal!

The sushi did not taste great, did not look like the menu and was frankly over-priced, even though it is a tourist destination. The staff was unfriendly, when I came in they sat at a guest tabel, no one behind the counter. It felt as if I was interrupting normal people having dinner... Turns out it was just the staff not really seeming to want to help. The music was nice, atmosphere was okay, the flies everywhere is understandable, it's summer in France, I get it.
