I absolutely loved this place, a highlight of my Provencal minibreak, in terms of food experiences, and that includes a couple of Michelin places. Everything about it was perfect. The fabulous setting, with shady leafy trees in the courtyard of wonderful Lambert Collection modern art museum. The service, a bunch of gorgeous people inside and out serve you with warmth, care and humour (and even excellent English). The freshly squeezed beautiful juice combinations, the tea with ice and mint, olives on the house, and wonderful food. I opted for seabass (dourade), which was perfectly cooked, served with amazing caramelized aubergine; and freshly made chilli and mango "chutney" - so good!!! I normally don't have dessert, but the server suggested refreshing chilled compote of rhubarb with yoghurt icecream, childhood in a glass, just fantastic! Gluten free, and vegetarian options available. Recommended by locals, full of locals, I was the only tourist in the whole place for the few hours I was there. Make this no1 for lunch on your visit to Avignon. Whilst you are there, don't miss the museum next...
Read moreWent for dinner. Beautiful atmosphere, very relaxed but still feeling like high dining. The courtyard was cool and comfortable. Food was excellent, with distinct Thai influences. The hummus was a surprising standout for starters, with a rustic texture, strong flavor, and fresh tomatoes. Wine selection was decent. For mains, the sea bream was perfectly cooked, lightly seasoned, allowing the flavor of the fish to shine through. Accompanying the fish was candied aubergine, which was a sweet and heavy side. The mango salsa was the right touch of acidic bite to accompany the fish. The caramel chicken was delivered in a banana leaf; interesting visuals that did not get in the way or complicate the eating. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the accompanying sauce definitely highlighting the Asian influence. Desserts were simple and ok; good, but not as good as the other food. The rum baba was very full of rum and the raspberry fountain was a light and simple fruit to end the evening on. Service was standard, never rushed and the staff worked together as...

We didn’t have reservations but were fortunate enough to get a table for dinner ! Everyone seemed to have reservations with multiple people turned away.
Staff was incredibly friendly and a beautiful hand written English menu board was brought to our table !
The menu was explained when we had questions and we didn’t get any attitude for speaking minimal French. We ordered a lovely French wine and our main entrees . Both were excellent and so fresh and beautifully presented.
The flavours developed into wonderful flavours with every bite !
I had the fish with chutney and peas. My husband had the ribs with exotic salad with rice.
The cheesecake dessert was the best cheesecake I have ever had! The raspberry sorbet on top put it over the top!
We sat under beautiful chestnut trees in a quiet courtyard away from the hectic tourist streets!
Familles enjoying a lovely evening...
