On our trip to Europe, my fiancée and I quickly discovered the cheap and delicious option of kebabs in a variety of different countries (in addition to the cracker-coated peanut snacks each country in europe has that served as most days' lunch). Quality varied greatly among them all, ranging from rat-infested (in Paris, of course) to this establishment ranking quite definitively as the best. Having stopped to do laundry down the street, we noticed a long line out the door of this small storefront and figured "well, if the locals are all eating here it must be good" - it was. Entire families come here after their kids' sports practices, and businessmen come here after a long day of work - good food reaches all audiences! Not only was the service exceptionally kind (I don't speak more than a word or two of French, yet they did their best to welcome me and take my order without making me feel rushed or uneasy), but you more than get what you pay for. Made in house, you get a ton of food for an affordable price that's quite delicious after a long day of traveling. Read moreWe needed to catch the bus out of Avignon and had only a small amount of time. We were having trouble figuring out what to do about some food when we stumbled on Istanbul Kebap, and we were so glad we did.
It is a very small place with a counter and a few high seats. Ali makes totally delicious food. We had the schwarma wraps and also a falafel plate. Everything was so tasty, generous portions, inexpensive prices, and the schwarma was the best I have ever eaten because it was not fatty at all, and cooked to perfection.
Ali was a delightful host. We felt like we were in his home because of his warmth and friendliness. It was a great experience and we made it to our bus. We had a full bellies and big smiles.
Please take him your business! It is very...
Read moreOkay - we saw lots of reviews here, so we gave it a try. The Kebab shop is very unassuming, small entrance, no big fancy signs. There is a nice simple menu and menu and my son ordered the kebab with salad and chips in a wrap. The gentleman who served us was helpful, and helped with my basic French. The food was going to take 10 minutes so we sat and waited patiently, the price seemed pretty reasonable - 18 euros for two. The wraps were great. Really fresh tasting with crisp vegetables and tender meat. The chips were sliced crisped potatoes and the sauce was great, just the right spice level and not so much to make it all soggy, it wasn’t too greasy or heavy. Honestly, one of the best kebabs I have had. Highly...
