What a lovely meal! We tried several French classics — escargots, frog legs, and duck terrine to start, followed by hanger steak and veal liver for mains. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The liver was very tender, and the red wine sauce is really tasty. I dip the bread with the sauce. The steak juicy and well seasoned, but some part is a little bit hard to bite. Both came with fries. The escargots and frog legs were especially fun to try — rich, garlicky, and so satisfying.

The vibe of the place is super cozy and welcoming — relaxed, but with heart. It really feels like a place locals go to enjoy comfort food done right. Visited Avignon while on an AMA Waterways river cruise. We were looking for a place for lunch and just happened upon this little restaurant. We were seated outside, but if started to rain, so the owner moved us to a table inside.

After looking at the menu, we decided to do the 3 course option plus we shared a bottle of wine. We both started with the mushroom soup. It had a savory whipped cream on top that melted into the soup and was amazing! I had the fish for my entree, while my husband had the beef. Both were quite good. For dessert, I had the chocolate, my husband had the rum baba (which came with a shot of rum)!
