Café des Gourmets — Restaurant in Bastia

Nice looking Cafe, we had some time before our ferry left and were looking for a place to eat. We asked the bartender for a table for two (in English), he responded in French that we should ask one of his colleagues. We didn't have a reservation and all tables inside were supposedly reserved (no signs). When we asked if we could sit outside the waitress agreed (also only in French) and we sat down. Once we sat there another waitress (who ignored us previously) came to us and told us we had to leave because the tables were reserved. The best breakfast of my lifetime. I could write pages and pages of gushing praise about this place. The food (we returned multiple times and tried almost everything on the menu), the ambience, the staff - everything is perfect.

My tip: Try the tartine aux figues et framboise. On the first bite, my soul left my body, visited heaven for a few seconds and slowly lowered itself...

Really delicious food, but most importantly, excellent service. The staff were 10/10 - super friendly and attentive. We went twice cause we enjoyed it so much.
