We were met by the Hotel Manager Marie-Caroline who showed us the room, how the door lock worked, the aircon and the windows. The hotel is spotlessly clean! I mean immaculate! We were on the 2nd floor with a view from the balcony of the village. The bed was so comfortable, the pillows too. I suffer from First Night Effect, but I did sleep some which is most unusual for the first night in a new environment - that to me is the highest possible compliment I can pay. The bathroom was compact but had a walk-in spacious shower which was powerful. The balcony was enough for us to sit out on (a small table would have been useful). We had breakfast at the hotel for the first few mornings until we got our bearings. Lovely fresh bread and pastries, lots of fresh coffee, orange or apple jus and a choice of omelette or boiled eggs with bacon. Marie-Caroline called it a French brunch, I christened it Frunch!!|Parking is secure, a few steps from the hotel, you are given a small envelope with tickets in to use to 'pay' for the parking. Approach the barrier, get a ticket and find the space that is the same number as your room number. When you want to leave the carpark, go to the payment machine, scan the ticket you got from the barrier and then scan one of the prepaid tickets. It then shows you the ticket has been paid and you scan that ticket (not the prepay one) at the exit barrier to get out. This isn't explained very well but I believe that's only because of the language barrier! That said, Marie-Caroline's English is much better than my French! |Overall a lovely hotel and comfortable stay. Would definitely stay again, thoroughly...

Read moreGreat option if you speak french Food was ok and reasonably priced, but the service wasn’t very welcoming. We waited a while to be seated whilst dinners were being served. We then sat for 20 mins watching new arrivals being seated before we managed to get one of the waiters attention. He immediately dismissed us, but his colleague did then come over. The water we asked for never arrived although every other table I could see had a bottle of the stuff on it. We couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of trying to get attention and asking for it again or mayonnaise with the meal, so we didn’t stay for dessert either. We don’t speak French, but have a go with our limited vocabulary and with a bit of engagement usually get there. This was my worst epitome of a French restaurant, these 2 guys just didn’t seem to want the business enough to help us, so UK & US citizens beware if...
