Had quite possibly the best Cheeseburger I have ever eaten in Europe at this restaurant. It was a hand pressed patty, fried not grilled, and a smidge greasy (as it should be). Not grass fed beef but a good grain feed cow made the hamburger. I don't put veggies on my burger so I am not sure what that may be like, but what I did have (cheese burger plain) was perfect. Fries were good as well. The wait staff was very friendly, the young lady did not speak much English and my French is crap, but she smiled and was nice. Read moreAah, this place was the last we tried on our third trip to this idyllic resort and most certainly in a different class to the many, we tried previously.
My advice would be to avoid it, as it was truly awful!
The mussels were inedible / completely over-cooked, the bavette steak introduced me to jaw muscles I didn't know I had and the bread, served with the (generous portion) of fois gras, was stale. Oh, and the wine list was limited to 1 from Spain or 1 from France.
We couldn't wait to leave.
There are so many great restaurants in the small town of Biarritz, don't waste your time in this one.

Atmosphere wise : the bistrot is on the big center plaza, by the church and the sea bank.
Food wise : everything was super tasty. We got to try the Caesar salad that was FINALLY a real Caesar salad and not just plain lettuce with chicken. We got the mussels, the pâté with espelette spices, the sausage, the grilled octopus and the pimientos de padron. All tasty. Well presented.
Price wise : very affordable considering the type of food, the quality, and the servings.
