Au Fil Du Clos Restaurant — Restaurant in Beaune

Me and my boyfriend had dinner at this restaurant to 1) celebrate and 2) end our amazing holiday in the Bourgogne. What an incredible disappointment!!

Every waiter seemed in a rush, the starter was good but big so it took a while for me to finish. Apparently this was too long because 2 minutes after they cleared the plates the main arrived. The main was served way too soon, lacked flavour and was extremely fatty. After not finishing even half of our dish we went out for a smoke. When we came back the plates were cleared and no one asked us anything or even asked whether we liked it. Without any break my boyfriend was served his dessert. I wanted to order desert separate while my boyfriend had a menu. I wasn’t given the chance to order something because the desert was served again within a couple of minutes (together with the cutlery). The waiter left in such a hurry we did not even had a chance to ask them. All in all the three course dinner, including an aperitif and an amuse bouche took a little over 1,5 hours. Not fun!

When we confronted the staff afterwards - they blamed us for not saying anything. When we stated there was no time since the only contact with them was when they served courses matching their time schedule and not our needs; which in essence and in their service quality ambition, they should be willing to create an experience and not a fast food / drive through experience for us

If one person orders a-la-Carte and one orders a menu, it is normal the courses are to be aligned when served! That’s not complaining; that’s normal service!

As mentioned we did not want to make a scene and yet they said it was our own fault and got back to work.

We’re not ones to comment or complain, but this was awful and so disrespectful that we wanted to share. Especially the reaction we received was extremely disappointing. In essence; NOT a gastronomy experience and an ultimate disappointment of what should’ve been an amazing evening. Don’t go here if you want to enjoy your company and relax...

Extremely Disappointed service. (the waiter with big 🧔‍♂️ beards was really nice. Apologize for not remembering your name). Our flight got delayed and we sent email to notify the restaurant hours in advance. After 17hours flight, We rushed from Paris to the restaurant And we were really sorry about it. (So we ate really fast and was not the last one left the restaurant) However, one of the waiters was poker face for the whole night. Showed he’s greatest reluctance to us. Not willing to answer any questions, make large noise while was placing the plates etc. serving people like he’s going to punch them in their face the next second The worst service I’ve ever expected. when came to wine serving, we were so shocked that he basically pour more than half glass…what a waste man! We were not there for binge drinking! We requested if he could pour less for the next round, he’s face turned double poker 🙂 Food was soso. The scallops are more too salty. As we didn’t have the breads, we asked politely if we could pack it and take away to avoid food waste. That waiter just took the plates and threw the bread on the table and told us we can bring it home. Oh well. Thank you for your hospitality. This is my first time ever complained about anyone right away in a restaurant. Would never recommend this place to anyone as long as the guy still works...

Great restaurant with friendly owners and a talented chef.

Fine dining cuisine with a focus on fromage with dishes designed to fill you and not leave one hungry (as can all too often be the case with fine dining).

The food was of a very high quality and the staff were attentive and friendly with certain staff members being able to converse comfortably in both french and english. Unfortunately my French is non-existent, something to rectify.

The drinks menu is was comprehensive with a large focus placed on wines but with juices and a small selection of soft drinks also available.

The primary dishes at the time of veal or seared tuna were both delectable and can be recommended on preference.

There is an elevator available for wheelchair access, outdoor couch seating is available for comfort and the surrounding greenery is stunning.

Would only recommend soft music...
