Stopped here for Sunday lunch. We chose it because of the location... Right in the village square and bathed in sunlight. The menus looked good||The service was friendly and attentive. Every table was taken and it had a good ambience. The food was very good although it was not what we Brits would call piping hot. I had a duck breast in cream cassis sauce, and my partner had beef borguignon served with some tagliatelle. Both dishes were very good. For dessert we had a trio of desserts - creme brûlée, cassis sorbet with a poached pear, and chocolate mousse served with a single espresso. It was more than enough for both of us. And each dessert was wonderful. We had one glass of wine - an absolute steal at 3 euros, and an extra cappuccino. The bill was a ridiculous 50 euros.... What a snip. And we had had the most wonderful meal in a perfect setting. Absolute heaven....
Read moreWe arrived in Meursault quite late, start of the season and no idea where to eat. Most places are just opening up for the season and this was a Monday. The concierge at our hotel managed to get us a table at short notice and we sat on the terrace, several unlucky couples were turned away as we sat there. Lovely place, opposite the church and a really mid France feel to it. Loved it. I had a regional pate to start and an Entrecôte. The Coeliac Wife had a lamb shank. Both were very tasty and came with dauphinois potatoes. We had a carafe of local red wine that was awesome. As I read this, I have decided to lighten up and give it 5 stars. Dessert was just ice cream as I was full, but honestly, this was quintessentially French and recommended as a classic French...
